Yes, folks, it is that time of the year again, the time to pony up and help out our soldiers through Soldiers Angels and Project Valour IT
Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, helps provide voice-controlled/adaptive laptop computers and other technology to support Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries. Technology supplied includes:
- Voice-controlled Laptops – Operated by speaking into a microphone or using other adaptive technologies, they allow the wounded to maintain connections with the rest of the world during recovery
- Wii Video Game Systems – Whole-body game systems increase motivation and speed recovery when used under the guidance of physical therapists in therapy sessions (donated only to medical facilities).
- Personal GPS – Handheld GPS devices build self-confidence and independence by compensating for short-term memory loss and organizational challenges related to severe TBI and severe PTSD.
This year, I am joining a great group, led by Carrie at Villainous Company and Cassy at Cassy Fiano, in supporting the Marines. Out brave military folks can be wounded in service, and this is the time we can give back for their honor. Giving back. Yes, that is something that Neal Boortz rants about, usually rightly. In this situation, these wounded warriors have given so much to protect American and our way of life, so, yes, this is a great way we can give back. So join up. Choose a branch of service to support. If you want to go Marines, contact Cassy or Carrie. Or me, and I’ll pass it on (make sure to remove the NOSPAM from the email address in the top bar under the header.) Or, Tweet me. Whatever. Join in!
Go Team Marines!
Thanks William!! Just a quick note — it’s Carrie, not Cassandra. Carrie posts at Villainous Company as well. 🙂
