Did I say terrorist? Sorry, I meant 7 year old with a nerf gun
A 7-year-old child allegedly shot a Nerf-style toy gun in his Hammonton, N.J., school Jan. 18. No one was hurt, but the pint-size softshooter now faces misdemeanor criminal charges.
Hammonton Police began an investigation into the “suspicious activity†at the Hammonton Early Childhood Education Center Jan. 18 after school officials alerted them to the incident.
The “gun” the child brought to school was a $5 toy gun, similar to a Nerf gun, that shoots soft ping pong type balls, according to the school’s superintendent.
Good thing the school has “zero tolerance” policy towards, um, fake guns!
Deseire Gherard, a parent of one of the students at the school, agrees with the policy.
“I’d rather it be dealt with more severely than not,” said Gherard. “I would rather them go a little bit too far for the safety of all the children then to say ‘okay, it was probably nothing.'”
He’s 7. It wasn’t a real gun. And, here’s the kicker
Police charged the 7-year-old with possessing an imitation firearm in or on an education institution – a misdemeanor and a minor juvenile offense in New Jersey.
Un. Fucking. Believable. Well, actually, it is believable in the liberal version of a completely pussy society they are trying to create. The 7 year old….did I mention he was 7?…. could face all sorts of penalties, including re-education, er, counseling.
You ever watch Jersey Shore? If so, you would get a good idea of the intelligence in Jersey.
One observation, the Roman empire fell after they became less aggressive. There were certainly other factors, but the fact is that for 200 years, Romans did not participate fully in their military. They hired much of the work. Likely, they lost their blood lust.
This type of thing is the result of many factors. First is when you have judges who can’t or won’t punish the guilty to a level that fits their crime. Because of that, there is a public outcry causing legislatures step in and say “there is a minimum sentence for this.”
Secondly, there are the lawsuits against schools and administrators who at one point in time, were trained and whose experience allowed them to make a decision based on that training and experience. Now, since every choice a school administrator makes is scrutinized and challenged by parents of the “little angels,” it is better for the school system to have a book / manual /checklist where an incident results in specified punishment.
Then you have the cops, who can say that they protected the school from a weapon welding juvenile delinquent.
Even the parent that said ““I’d rather it be dealt with more severely than not. I would rather them go a little bit too far for the safety of all the children then to say ‘okay, it was probably nothing'” ha lost the critical ability to think.
It wasn’t “probably nothing.” It WAS nothing.
But because people are locked into a certain mindset that prevents critical thinking, they feel they are doing the right thing.
They are just “doing what they are told.”
holy crap!! This is just plain stupid. Arresting a 7 year old child, and charging them for carrying a fake gun to school.
how can carrying something fake be illegal?
Now, was he intending to cause harm and death with his fake nerf gun? If so, then I can understand.
We need a president to make a national law to make zero-tolerance illegal and unconstitutional. (isn’t that the tune of the left?)
