Did Team Obama Pay The Washington Post For Fawning Coverage?

Apparently, they watched a different speech than the rest of us did. Here’s Charles Krauthammer on Obama’s Monday night repeat, via Gateway Pundit:

Don Surber has some other quotes which lambaste President Snippy Pants.

And So It Goes In Shreveport eviscerates (whoops, sorry, uncivil word) Obama’s class warfare scaremongering blamestorming 5 year old tantrum presser.

Then we get to the Washington Post. Other than slightly to the right Jennifer Rubin, it’s a love fest. Here’s Chris Cillizza: Cool Obama meets hot Boehner in dueling debt ceiling speeches

President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, the two men at the center of the ongoing debate over whether to raise the debt limit, both addressed the country on the topic tonight. And that’s where the similarities between the two speeches ended.

Obama was all cool reason — making a case for why passing the debt ceiling is necessary to keep the economy on firm footing and quoting the likes of Ronald Reagan and Thomas Jefferson to argue that compromise is part of being American.

Boehner was all white hot passion — blasting President Obama for his “business as usual” approach to governing in Washington and repeatedly insisting that it was the president not the Congress who was standing in the way of debt limit deal.

E.J. Dionne: Obama talks to the middle, Boehner rallies the right

President Obama made clear tonight that the debate over the debt ceiling is not left vs. right. It’s center vs. right. There was nothing remotely “left” in this speech, unless you count higher taxes for corporate jet owners and a few other populist bits.

David Nakamura: Obama changes tone in public debate over debt ceiling. I actually can’t boil the lovefest down to a quick excerpt, except perhaps this line which is its own paragraph: Obama smiled.

Let’s face it, there was nothing new in the speech (Wizbang has the full transcript by Obama, along with Boehner’s). Well, there was this bit

Now, what makes today’s stalemate so dangerous is that it has been tied to something known as the debt ceiling -– a term that most people outside of Washington have probably never heard of before.

Got that? Typical Obama condescension, essentially calling the American People stupid. For a man who has no executive experience and apparently hasn’t learned anything in his current job, a man with little business experience, a man who passed an $800 billion pork laden giveaway, a man who has added more debt in his short time than Bush did in 8 years, and a man who laughed about “shovel ready jobs not being shovel ready,” well, he shouldn’t be calling other people stupid.

More from Ed Morrissey:

….Anyone listening to Obama’s fifth foray in front of the cameras this month — by far the most intense public-relations campaign Obama has conducted in more than a year — could be forgiven for wondering why the President didn’t spend at least some of that time actually developing and presenting his own plan.

The simple answer: Obama doesn’t want the responsibility for raising the debt ceiling, cutting spending, and/or raising taxes. This is what passes for leadership in the era of Hope and Change — voting present.

I also saw a clip of him responding after the speech saying……..

I dont want to play the blame game or finger point but……….

This man has the Alinsky Playbook down pat. Our Community Organizer president, the Marxist puppet of MULTI BILLIONAIRE George Soros knows just the right things to say.

    REMEMBER:

“An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent… He must create a mechanism that can drain off the underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time. Out of this mechanism, a new community organization arises….
“The job then is getting the people to move, to act, to participate; in short, to develop and harness the necessary power to effectively conflict with the prevailing patterns and change them. When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an ‘agitator’ they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function—to agitate to the point of conflict.

(Class warfare anyone? Blame the rich for all our evils)

    AND MOST IMPORTANLY:

Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, “Okay, what would you do?”

THIS IS WHY WE HAD NO BUDGET….why we had nothing from the democrats….just an open ended credit card to spend and spend and spend…..AVOID being trapped in what would you do….

This is why Obama has never offered any concrete anything……he is after all nothing but a…..

Community organizer and agitator of the masses.

and that is my word of the day.

    Amen WORD.

Unfortunately, it would seem that half this nation (though that number does seem to be going under 50% now) still believe the lies and idiocy from this child.

These people, of course, are also the ones who only voted for him BECAUSE he was black, because he would give them free money, because he would conduct class warfare by raising taxes on just the affluent, because he “looked good”, and because he came from a union-organizing soros-backed marxist ideology.

Many people voted for him because they knew that he was going to bring this nation down.

But, this really doesn’t surprise me coming out of the Washington Compost. They have been more of a shill for this person that the NYTimes have been anti-American.

It’s just funny to see the lengths they will go to lie.

Unfortunately, this will only get worse. If the BEST the conservatives can do is to come up with Boehner and his $300 billion per year spending reduction? Hell, after 10 years, the cost of living index will eat that away.

GIVE US $2.7 Trillion spending cuts NOW!!
Pass it and make the president and Senate come up with an alternative. At least you would have passed something.
