I usually avoid back to back posts on our Failure In Chief, but, Michele Bachmann makes some good points in between going a bit overboard
(The Hill) Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) suggested Tuesday that President Obama’s health care reform law could give the government a dangerous amount of power in individual’s health care decisions, going as far as to say “it isn’t farfetched” that the federal government could try to limit birth rates by refusing to cover associated health costs after a family has a certain number of children.
Bachmann, appearing on Glenn Beck’s online television network, argued that women had “a lot to lose” under the president’s policies. Her argument was intended as a rebuttal of arguments from Democrats who have said in recent weeks that the GOP is alienating female voters by opposing federal subsidies for contraception.
“Women have a lot to lose under Obamacare If you want to go into specifics, what the government gives, the government can take away. It certainly isn’t beyond the pale to think, in light of Kathleen Sebelius, the Health and Human Services Secretary — she said that it’s important that we have contraceptives because that prevents pregnancy, and pregnancy is more expensive to the federal government. Going with that logic, according to our own Health and Human Services secretary, it isn’t far-fetched to think that the President of the United States could say ‘we need to save health care expenses — the federal government will only pay for one baby to be born in the hospital per family, or two babies to be born per family.’ That could happen. We think it couldn’t?†Bachmann said.
She further went on to say
“I’m not saying he is going to do it, I’m saying he has the power and authority to do it,” Bachmann said.
Would Obama do this? No, even if he were to win a 2nd term, in which he would have no restrictions on pushing his far, far left agenda. But, he has the power. There are virtually no restrictions on the power of the Executive Branch, particularly HHS, to basically do whatever the hell they want. We found this out by reading the bill.
(CNS News) “The issue with Obamacare isn’t what we’re going to get, the bigger issue with Obamacare is what will be taken away, because we have now one person who’s a health dictator in our country and that health care dictator will decide what we get and what we don’t get,†Bachmann told CNSNews.com at the Capitol on Wednesday.
She also referred to Obama as a health care dictator during the Glenn Beck show interview.
Bachmann said the contraception issue was a “very small example†of what Americans can expect as a result of Obama health reform law, arguing that future presidents will use the authority the federal government has claimed to aid them in getting reelected.
“All this was, was a very small 3-D example of what ObamaCare looks like in the United States today,†Bachmann. “And this is what we’re going to see in the future. We’re going to see in future political elections, presidents are going to come up with a politically popular disease or a politically popular pharmaceutical drug and he or she will be pandering that product before elections.â€
That is her most important point: health care/insurance, thanks to ObamaCare, has now become a political football, one which can be used during campaigns, with this or that candidate making all sorts of promises to spend taxpayer money on “x”. Right now, it’s contraception, sterilization, and abortifacients with no co-pays, and mandating that even religious organizations provide that coverage over their 1st Amendment religious objections. What’s next? ObamaCare creates a situation where the Central Government becomes more and more involved in mandates and health decisions, which will both drive up costs and reduce actual care.

I had a patient come in yesterday, he could not sit in the chair without pain. He was 80 years old, a veteran of our wars, and he was crying in front of me because he was in pain and our government would not allow him the medications to relieve the pain. That is because someone might sell prescription drugs on the street.
I had a woman see me one week ago and was in horrible pain with chronic back. She begged me for pain medications, but I could not give them to her because of the DEA regulations and the state laws inacted in LA by Bobby Jindal. Doctors have been significantly restricted in their ability to prescribe drugs for people who need pain relief.
I can give many more examples. I will state that our medical delivery system is in trouble. People are not getting what they need. This is inhuman and I am beginning to explore how to do something about this in an illegal manner.
Oh for jeepers sake. Why can’t Bachmann just come out and call a spade a spade? Is she so scared, she can’t say we now live under the thumb of totalitarianism? Sure, the health care bill is called health care and it’s gonna be good for our health because they say so. Just like the free health care in those lovely camps in Cambodia, Germany, Russia and elsewhere was good for your health. Obama doesn’t care about cost because cost is not a factor. It will pay for itself. What matters is control, and Obama has it. Control over a culture of death, as all totalitarian regimes must be. Lets go camping. Camps for the politically incorrect, so they can be corrected. Camps for sick and old, so they can be processed. Unemployed much? No problem, we have camps for that too. You will be healthy until the government says you are not. Then, you are dead. You will work until the government says you are free. Then you are free, to die. It’s a good system. No evil insurance companies or striking nurses unions to deal with. And, it’s as good as here. Obama can kill whoever he wants, without any review, right now. So, I guess maybe Bachmann is just helping Obama make it look like political opposition still matters? I’m so glad leader Obama knows what’s best for me, otherwise, I might be apprehensive. Just saying.
