(Politico) Former president Jimmy Carter is taping a video address to be shown in prime time at the Democratic National Convention, the convention committee announced Tuesday.
Carter said in a statement that he regrets he will not be able to attend in person.
I wonder if Carter will go off message and say “Ha! Told you I wasn’t that bad!” From the press release
“President Carter is one of the greatest humanitarian leaders of our time and a champion of democracy around the globe,†said 2012 Democratic National Convention Chair Antonio Villaraigosa. “A lifelong champion of human rights and investments in education and energy to spur economic development, President Carter will provide unique insight into President Obama’s ability to move our country forward and why we need his vision and leadership for a second term. President Obama is fighting for the next steps in our nation’s economic recovery, to reclaim America’s promise on behalf of hard-workers, the strivers, the dreamers, who ask only for a fair shot and a fair shake.â€
Interesting that the beginning avoids all mention of Carter’s time as president. Even more interesting, what could a the original SCOAMF president offer as “unique insight”? Really, when one is depending on the wisdom of Jimmy Carter for economic advice, the septic tank has really exploded.
So, the DNC is touting that Carter should return for a second term? How bad does one have to be for the DNC to be pining for the good old days of Carter?!?
BTW, sending in a tape? So, even Carter doesn’t want to be there???
BTW2, How come the RNC has yet to invite Palin and the Paul klan to the Convention? Are they not going to invite any Tea Party members? If not, that will be a huge middle finger to conservatives and patriots. These voting members WILL sit out the election if they refuse to invite them.
I’m still surprised that Romney stated that he didn’t want to talk about the Chick-Fil-A issue as it was not something he wanted to get involved in. BAH!!
I can sort of understand his silence on Rep Bachman’s slapdown by members of her party over the Intelligence Committee’s request for information about the Terrorist ties by the secretary to our Secretary of State, but to remain silent on a direct assault on Freedom of Speech, Free Market, and the Right to Operate a business free from corruption and cronyism\political party influence????!??!?!?!?!!
Yeah, I loved that part about Carter mailing it in.

This George W. Bush never existed. Obama is the Worst president since Jimmy Carter, but if he did exist, which he didn’t, If you believe Obama to be the worst pres in modern times, you are beyond help.
Bush couldn’t make so much on his record – the worst president in our entire history. Class is the last thing that describes him. He’s probably drunk as a skunk on “the ranchâ€. But..he never existed. So sayeth the truth-telling Conservatives!
I have no idea what this guy is talking about. First, no one doubts that GWB existed. We have evidence and a paper trail to prove it. We even have video and auditory documentary evidence. Why are you so intent to say otherwise? Are you hearing voices, like Sen Diry Harry Reid, that are telling you things? If so, stay away from guns please.
Second, Pres GWB was no conservative. We all knew that after his first couple years in office. But, as is with Romney, who else are we going to vote for? Squishy republican over a New Age Reformationist Marxist? And yes, that was true for both of Pres GWB’s elections.
Teach, I agree that having Palin speak would be such, but only for those who won’t vote Republican. Having McCain speak, only PROVES that Romney is an inside man and is wholly subservient to the whims of the Beltway RNC.
However, I will eat my words if someone can make a good argument that the RNC Convention is not FOR Romney, but is an actual convention for the sharing and expression of ideas. If so, then again I ask why no one from Tea Party?
GWB had two qualities, he was not Kerry or Gore. Other than that he was a liberal and helped to kick start the Tea Party to counter RINO’s and the communist.

Hey, does anyone here think that Obama will go quietly in to the night like all past presidents before Clinton did (and GWB)? Or, will he remain egocentric like Clinton and force his face and opinion in to political and cultural realms over and over again?
