Has anyone told John Kerry?
(Science 2.0) Barnacles are a major problem for both small boats and large ships because they accumulate on the hulls and can reduce the fuel economy of a vessel by up to 40 per cent.
That means CO2 emissions rise accordingly.
The rest of the article, and the main thrust of it, revolves around the paints that are used on boats to attempt to keep barnacles off them, 90% of which are copper based, designed to release their miniscule poisons as the barnacles leach into the paint, versus older types that released the poisons into the oceans, which was a real environmental problem.
Yet, the article starts out with the silly notion about increased CO2 emissions and globull warming because barnacles can slow ships down. It’s no wonder we get things like (via Junk Science)
The battle between CNBC anchor Joe Kernen and environmentalists is escalating on Twitter and over the airwaves.
Kernen, co-host of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,†on Friday bashed “enviro-socialists†who are criticizing him, and shortly afterward added, “It is a bona fide cult.â€
No matter what the issue, Warmists will add “climate change” into the mix.

Pardon me while I rewrite that first clip:

405 of the GOP now belongs to this “cult” Fortunately there is still a small group of elites that recognizes that anti science is the way to go
40% of the GOP…..
Not to belabor the obvious, but john once again tries to confuse the issue that “climate change” (which is what the Gallop Poll asked about) being the same thing as global warming caused by man.
His source for his claim is a Huffington post article shows support for climate change is dropping amongst Democrats and io at a low point since 2000.
This means that science is winning and the science isn’t on the side of those who believe in AGW.
Heh! Good one, Nate.
Exactly, GT. Most of the polls fail to differentiate between anthropogenic causation and natural causation. I’ve said time and time again that Man bears some small part, mostly revolving around UHI.
I think most of us understand that we are in a warm period, but that is not the discussion, it is about causation, and, strangely, Warmists must not believe Man is at fault since they rarely take any deep measures within their own lives.
