Because You Drove A Fossil Fueled Vehicle, Volcanic Explosions May Soon Rise

Another dire prognostication from the Cult of Climastrology, preaching doom and gloom

VOLCANIC EXPLOSIONS COULD SOON BE ON THE RISE DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is responsible for a great deal of adverse weather problems we experience around the world today. From hotter days to heavier floods, to stronger hurricanes, we are getting it all and more with volcanic activity also on the rise too.

The last big surge of volcanic activity was thought to have been around 10,000 years ago when the last ice age ended. Generally, the state of eruptions has been steady over the years but is slowing on the rise. An average number of volcanic explosions to occur in one year is normally around 50, with the number of earthquakes occurring greater than magnitude six at around 150.

In recent years, scientists have seen those numbers increase significantly, with some areas of the globe seeing a rise of almost 10 percent. Places that are at risk the most from the increase in volcanic activity and earthquakes are those that experience major glacial melting, such as Alaska, Iceland, and the Himalayas.

We see these increases due to the effects of global warming. The higher temperatures are causing the glaciers to melt, which is, in turn, causing a rise in the sea-level. This rise in sea-level increases the pressure on the ocean floor, while reducing pressure on the continents and it is this change in pressure that causes volcanic eruptions to happen.

So, of course, this means future doom. Why won’t you stop using electricity at home, take 2 minute showers, use 2 sheets of toilet paper, and walk to work?

Really, Warmists just can’t help themselves when it comes to linking and/or blaming everything on the fictitious notion of anthropogenic global warming.

I wonder if they know that stupid stuff like this is why people have serious doubts about AGW.

  3. JGlanton says:

These AGW – triggered volcanic eruptions will not doubt effect the release of the any remaining Thetan souls into the atmosphere, further infecting the world with notions of God and Catholicism. Only Scientology will save us from the onslaught of global warming.

This theory is at least as plausible as the voodoo crap from the article above. Next thing we hear, they will be wanting to sacrifice deniers by throwing them into volcanoes. Frikkin moonbat nutburgers.

    Easily explained.

    Really.

    It is.

    Ablation.

The effect of Ablation upon any land mass is to reduce the underlying stress IE. weight, on the crust causing a rise in seismic activity due to rebound of the compressed area that was compressed via the enormous weight of the ice.

Or more simply put. Ice compresses the earth….Florida was actually compressed by as much as 4 feet in some places due to the enormous weight created by glacial ice. This compression REBOUNDS as the weight is lifted via ABLATION. Rebounding crust is most likely subject to more then its fair share of seismic events as the crust repositions itself with the receeding weight placed on its surface.

Going forward….I am not too worried about sea level rise causing more volcanoes. The current rate of rise—about 0.12 inches per year (3 millimeters per year)—isn’t enough to destabilize the crust.

It would take a long time to add up to a significant amount, so while it’s an area of research to keep an eye on, it’s unlikely to have any disastrous consequences, at least for now.

Just another OMG the AGW SKY IS FALLING.
