It is simply amaing to me that the USA is trying the “lets get sanctions” route with the UN again (CNN). The UN, which is certainly one of my pet peeves, will wiffle and waffle and, as usual, do nada. Will our great friends, the French, join in this time? They seem to be the “international coalition” that Kerry wants, yet they block us at almost every turn. Nor can they, or the Germans, provide any sort of military backing, as both of their armies are weak. What to do, what to do.
The UN needs to step up to the plate, ie, the other countries need to get their acts together and get some troops on the ground in Sudan, before it turns into another Rwanda.
