Having perused many forums and chatboards at blogs about Mr Brooker, I have seen many a post from are Liberal friends, some of which are saying that what Brooker wrote was “Free Speech.” Well, Nay, it tis not. First of all. you have to be a US Citizen or a guest in our lovely country to be under First Amendment protection. Second, Free Speech was included in the Bill of Rights primarily to protect the People from retaliation for speaking out against the Government. 3rd, not all Speech is protected. The old saying that it is against the law to fraudulently yell “FIRE” in a crowded movie house is correct. It is likewise illegal to advocate the murder of anyone, much less the President of the United States of America.
If our Liberal buds want to take the line that Brooker is entitled to the Constitutional Guaruntee of Free Speech, then Mr. Brooker should be entitled to be prosecuted for advocating murder.
