I must say that Condi Rice is a fantastic choice for Secretary of State. She is tough, unflappable, defiantly misunderestimated (see the 9/11 Commission hearings, and what she did to Bob Kerrey), and will put her stamp on the State Dept., a fed gov’t institution that has always been rather namby pamby (did I just write that phrase?).
In regards to the soldier who shot the fighter in the Mosque, didn’t John Kerry receive a medal for doing almost the same thing? Except Kerry shot the wounded soldier in the back, after beaching his boat (there is a no no in the Navy), causing his gunner to be out of play, and running off his boat. Makes one think. (If anyone else has had this idea, I apologize for this foray, but I have yet to see it out there.) Also, our troops aren’t shooting non combatants in the head. (updated, bad typing)
I have heard that Hillary will try and look and sound like a Conservative over the next 4 years, starting soon. That might attract some swing voters in 2008, but will isolate the current crop of moonbats. She is in almost a lose lose situation.
Funny how liberals want to call themselves "Progressives." I am not afraid to say I am a conservative, or, more realistically, a Classical Liberal. Big differences between today’s libs and a CL. But really, they are not Progressives: they are Regressives. All they do is look back, and have no plans or thoughts on how to make things better. A Conservative, or Neo Conservative, looks back and wants things to change slowly. Regressives just want to look back and bitch.
