Good new all around. Alberto Gonzales was confirmed today as Attorney General, the first ever hispanic to gain that position. In an off note, it is a shame that everyone, including myself, has to note that. Continuing the good news, the Dems continue to piss off their base by voting against him.
The Senate voted 60-36 to put the first Hispanic ever into the job, with all of the "no" votes coming from Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independent Jim Jeffords of Vermont. Last week, 12 Democrats and Jeffords voted against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s confirmation.
So, first they vote against a black woman, now a hispanic. Good move, Dems. Good for Republicans. We look forward to a long run of winning elections and being the dominant party. We appreciate it.
Here is a list of the nimrods people we should thank for working to destroy the dems base.
Akaka (D-HI)
Bayh (D-IN)
Biden (D-DE)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Byrd (D-WV)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Carper (D-DE)

Corzine (D-NJ)
Dayton (D-MN)
Dodd (D-CT)
Dorgan (D-ND)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Feinstein (D-CA)
Harkin (D-IA)
Jeffords (I-VT)
Johnson (D-SD)
Kennedy (D-MA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Kohl (D-WI)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Lincoln (D-AR)

Reid (D-NV)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Sarbanes (D-MD)
Schumer (D-NY)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Wyden (D-OR
Something that might be more telling is the “D”s that vote FOR him:
Landrieu (D-LA)
Lieberman (D-CT)
Nelson (D-FL)
Nelson (D-NE)
Pryor (D-AR)
Salazar (D-CO)
If you ever wanted to know who your real centrists were you need look no further. (Salazar may have other motives though and should not be categorized on this vote.
The abstentions were something as well:
Baucus (D-MT)
Burns (R-MT)
Conrad (D-ND)
Inouye (D-HI)
Maybe Salazar and Lieberman will try and run in 08?
I think the ones who voted for Gonzales are the ones who realize that it is the wrong fight, yet again, for the Dems, and that Gonzales is not this evil person that the others made him out to be.
