In an article in the Boston Globe, John Kerry has weighed in on why he got his ass handed to him on a platter lost. But, he makes an interesting statement:
The furor over military credentials hasn’t ended with the campaign.
Kerry pledged to sign Form 180, releasing all of his military records,
but challenged his critics, including Bush, to do the same.”I want them to sign it, I want [swift boat veterans] John O’Neill,
Roy Hoffmann, and what’s their names, the guys on the other boat,"
Kerry said. ”I want their records out there. They have made specific
allegations about my record, I know things about their records, I want
them out there. I’m willing to sign it, to put all my records out
there. I’m willing to sign it, but I want them to sign it, too."
I thought he released all his military information? He’s said he has.
"Let me make this clear: My full military record has been made public,"
Kerry said. ”All of my medical records and all of my fitness reports,
every fitness report involving each place I served, is public. Where
are George Bush’s still? Where are his military records? End of issue."
If they are all released, then why does he need to sign his Form 180? Of course, back last April, in that same Boston Globe, he said "Nyet"
The day after John F. Kerry said he would make all of his military
records available for inspection at his campaign headquarters, a
spokesman said the senator would not release any new documents, leaving
undisclosed many of Kerry’s evaluations by his Navy commanding
officers, some medical records, and possibly other material.Kerry, in an interview Sunday on NBC’s "Meet The Press," was asked
whether he would follow President Bush’s example and release all of his
military records. "I have," Kerry said. "I’ve shown them — they’re
available for you to come and look at." He added that "people can come
and see them at headquarters."
So, Senator Flip Flop is back on top of his game. He said he wouldn’t even after President Bush had, and now, he says he will if President Bush will release the records he already has. More from todays Globe:
Kerry later confirmed that his decision to sign the form is not
conditional on any others signing, but he expressed lingering
bitterness over double standards on military service.
So, he will sign them, no matter what. I’d like to see folks call him on it. Let’s see if there is any truth to him being one of the soldiers who were dishonorably discharge that Carter (no way I am adding President in front of his name) pardoned.
Don’t hold your breath waiting on him to sign anything…
Yup. He won’t. He is just trying to score a cheap point.
Hey Teach,
Great post and points. Thank God the guy lost, but can you imagine the fun we are missing out on by him not being in the WH? Oh, my gosh.
So … how long does it take to fill one of those deals out any way?
And … sorry for the Jolly Roger reference (lefties flying it). You should know it was simple literary license. I know that all pirates of goodwill are right-wingers.
It would have been fun, from a blogging standpoint, to ave Kerry in the WH. So much material, and, with Tereza, even more fun!
