What a shame, some of NC’s Congress Critters as well as illegal "immigrant" groups have received mail with harsh language. While I do not condone this, they have in fact brought it on themselves.
"I’ve gotten some very ugly language, some racial slurs, bigoted e-mail — which are very disappointing," Barnhart said. "I can honestly understand the frustration. All we’re saying is that we need to look at the problem. We need constructive dialogue."
On its Web site, a Latino advocacy group also calls for tolerant dialogue.
Um, gee, I do not think introducing a Bill to allow the children of illegal immigrants to attend North Carolina public universities legally is "dialogue." My give a damn is busted.
El Pueblo posted attacks from some of its extreme opposition — some comments so aggressive that Raleigh police were called in to check on El Pueblo security. Now, there’s a flurry of bills that seek to take away more rights for illegal immigrants and tighten enforcement in North Carolina.
One would give local law enforcement more power to enforce immigration laws.
Another urges the U.S. Congress to formally declare English the nation’s official language.
The backers clearly oppose tuition breaks for undocumented families.
They are illegal. What part of that word is not clearly understood by these asshats? They have no Rights. They are not citizens of the United States of America, and they did not come here legally with the intention of becoming citizens.
Despite the backlash, Hunt said Thursday that he is still 100 percent behind the bill.
"Some of the people have been pretty ugly, but other people have continuing concerns about that," Hunt said. "We need to keep our eye on the ball — what’s the right thing to do and what’s the smart thing to do economically — so we can build the economy of North Carolina."
Hunt calls it the fair thing to do for children.
Whose children? The ones of the legal citizens of North Carolina who can be denied admission to the University system because a child of a criminal was given that seat? Doesn’t sound very damn fair to me. How about you?
I love the term “undocumented immigrant”. It’s so much softer and kinder than “illegal alien”. What kind of a meanie would deny the right to an education to a cuddly, sweet little “undocumented immigrant”?
As Echo Zoe asked, if he moves to NC and provides his MN DL, he has to pay full price. But if he moves here and provides NO ID, he gets a reduced price. What a deal.
