Hey, y’all. Jebediah here. Is Air America Deadbeat stealing federal funds that were meant for the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club? That is a question that them yanks in the NYC Department of Investigation would like to know (h/t Michelle Malkin leading to Radio Equalizer). I reckon I would, too. From the Bronx News:
The Bronx News has learned, through informed sources, that the diversion of hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club in Co-op City to the liberal Air America Radio is at the center of the city’s probe of corruption at the local club.
The money, which was reportedly paid to Air America as a loan, was supposed to be paid back with interest, two unidentified informed sources told the News. One source added that Air America officials, led by an official of the Gloria Wise Club, agreed to help the local club by publicizing its activities.
To date, no indictments have been handed down in the New York City Department of Investigation’s ongoing probe of the Gloria Wise Club’s reported transfer of funds to Air America.
How low can you go? Taking money from a great cause like the Boys & Girls Club to keep Air Deadbeat floating. Kinda hard to turn a profit when you are still #24 in the #1 market in the country, which is lower then the Caribbean format station AD replaced. Just more proof that 24/7 seething and hatred doesn’t play well to an audience. I suppose that all them "progressive" fellers got tired of sinking money into an empty mine. Talk radio is like the Gold Rush. Some folks, like Rush, Hannity, Boortz, etc, have hit the mother lode. Others, like AD, have been been digging in the wrong place, but do not want to give up on their investment, despite not one hint of gold in them hills.
Now, y’all just remember, the investigation is on going, so let’s not jump to the same type of insanity that the Left has with Rove. You say we won’t and never do? Damn, you’re right.

What happens when the mainstream media, after years of seething over conservative talk radio’s success, discover its alternative got diverted public funds, earmarked instead for inner-city youth and seniors?
The answer, with one key exception: they pretend it didn’t happen.
