Gotta love the moonbats in Chapel Hill
he Town Council passed not one but two resolutions Monday night condemning the war in Iraq and calling for its immediate end.
Council members seized the opportunity to express their unanimous disapproval of the war, which they blame for depleting resources that could go to local governments.
Gimme, gimme, gimme. Maybe Chapel Hill could consider all the graft coming out of the Democratically controlled North Carolina state government. Maybe they could be responsible with their money. Hey, maybe they could ask Air America Deadbeat for money, since AD operates a tiny little station in Chapel Hill.
There was no vocal opposition to the petitions at Monday’s meeting, but a local Republican reached at home afterward for comment dismissed the moves as meaningless.
"They think they’re the Berkeley of the East Coast," said Carrie Cote, a Chapel Hill Republican whose husband is chairman of the county GOP. "They’re a small little group in a small little town. … They didn’t even invite the other side that might disagree. There’s no surprise here."
No, no surprise. The Left doesn’t like to debate their ideas except as a way to launch personal attacks. Facts, now, those are pesky things to the Left. They do not like to debate those. They refuse to discuss all those on the Left who said Saddam had to go. They do not like to discuss the fact that they have taken Saddam’s side in the war, preferring to ignore the rape rooms, torture, and mass murder that occured under Saddam, instead using absurd arguments to attack George "Still The President" Bush. That is what they did. Can any Lefty out there say that the Iraqi’s are not better off? Yes, they have some issues with violence, but so does the USA. But the Iraqi’s have been given a chance for a life without a vicious and brutal dictator and his insane sons in charge.
The Left is entitled to legitimate debate. But their beliefs and viewpoints on Iraq are disengenuous, being based soley on hate. Hate for Bush, hate for Republicans, hate for the military, and hate for America. They might as well be French.
And what a total waste of government time to even suggest such a thing. The morons on the city council don’t have the power to stop the war, as much as they’d like to. They should get voted out for being morons, but then again, you’re talking about Chapel Hill…
