Gotta love what the Giants did today. After a let down game against the Vike’s, the Giants had a good win against the woeful Eagles. Yes, not McNabb or T.O. McMahon played well (bet Detroit wished they still had him), and Westbrook was a factor. Is it just me, or is Westbrook fast? Yup, fast.
Good special teams play from the Gmen, after the disaster last week. Eli looked much better. Which is necessary going into next Sunday’s game against 7-2 Seattle and Sean Alexander.
Thoughts on the day
- Mike Vick is a horrendous passer. Every pass comes out on a rope. Yes, Brett Favre throws like that too. However, Brett can also throw the touch pass, and the deep bomb. Every pass I have seen Vick throw is a straight line bullet, even the deep ones. Gotta love that he wins, but, when will he learn to be a true QB?
- Aaron Brooks isn’t much better. Throws bullets. Is learning to throw the touch a bit, though. Getting better, which is good to see. Of course, the way New Orleans is playing, it really doesn’t matter.
- Redskins: WOOPS!
- Perhaps Miami might consider using their high first round draft pick in 2006 to get a QB. Something they should have done 4 years ago. Terrible. Ricky wasn’t too bad with 86 yds on the day.
- Chicago?
- Baltimore?
- Jaguars put up 31, and they couldn’t throw 1 TD to Jimmy Smith for some fantasy points?
- Way to go, Kurt W. Wins are few and far between. Still, it was the Rams.
- Speaking of wimpy players (did I?), is it just me, or does it annoy other football fans that so many of the Rams and Colts players refuse to get hit? They always go down or out of bounds. Contact sport.
- All this skipping around like a school girl after a play looks really silly. Leave that for the defunct XFL.
- How bad are the J-e-t-s Jets Jets Jets?
- They sure aren’t as bad as the Texans. Yes, they are sorta expansion. But, MAN, are they bad. All around. Bad. Painfull to watch bad. And David Carr has no arm. Looks like he has trouble throwing a 10 yarder. He was shorthopping people, and had no velocity. If there was much talent on that team, might be worth getting another QB.
- Dom Capers has a perpetual look on his face of disgust, which is only supplanted now and then by amazement at the boneheaded things his players do.
- Or, maybe he just needs to either Fabreeze or replace his slippers, like I do. Peeuuuwwwww!
