Once again, rented Democratic Presidential contender John Forbes Kerry proves that he doesn’t really understand the GWOT, and what terrorists try to do
Senator John Kerry said that the administration has tried to "exploit" public fears over terrorism and repeated allegations that the United States should have caught bin Laden on the Afghan-Pakistan border in late 2001 when he was believed surrounded in some caves.
"You know, Osama bin Laden is going to die of kidney failure before he’s killed by Karl Rove and his crowd," Kerry told ABC, refering to top presidential adviser Rove.
"All he does is divide America over this issue and exploit it."
Yes, it would have been nice if he was caught, better if he was killed. But, that gives a nice little peek into Kerry’s mindset. Catch Osama like a common criminal. As far as the dividing America part, that is part of what terrorists do, and we are only divided if they let us be. People like Kerry allow us to be divided. Rather then working with the admin, Dems like Kerry use terrorist propaganda for ad hominum attacks.
"The fact of the matter is, we have not been attacked in more than four years. That is not an accident, it’s not just dumb luck," Cheney said.
Kerry refuted that.
"One of the reasons we haven’t been attacked here is because they are being so successful at doing what they need to do to attack us in Iraq and elsewhere," the Democratic lawmaker said.
So what you are saying, certainly without understanding it, John, is that the strategy in Iraq is working? That Al Queda is streaming into Iraq, rather then OUR country? Great!
Of course, the Dems plan of securing the shipping and containers is being ignored, which upsets them tremendously. Maybe Kerry could use his position on either the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee or the Subcommitte on International Operations and Terrorism to push for this. Amazing what someone who has been in the Senate for well over 20 years could do. Or, maybe John could understand that the GWOT is about people.
Update: Michelle Malkin has an interesting way at looking at quote about Iraq:
Not only is Kerry engaging in Howard Dean defeatism of the worst kind (as well as abject cluelessness about our recent major successful strikes overseas), he is also implying that we will be less secure at home if our troops succeed abroad. What kind of message does that send to U.S. soldiers on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan?
