I’ll admit, I am always a bit skeptical of models. I have written that many times before in my anti global warming posts, so, I must be consistent. But, the “climate change” proponents use them to justify their hysteria, so let’s take a look at this article:
Sun-spawned cosmic storms that can play havoc with earthly power grids and orbiting satellites could be 50 percent stronger in the next 11-year solar cycle than in the last one, scientists said on Monday.
Using a new model that takes into account what happens under the sun’s surface and data about previous solar cycles, astronomers offered a long-range forecast for solar activity that could start as soon as this year or as late as 2008.
They offered no specific predictions of solar storms, but they hope to formulate early warnings that will give power companies, satellite operators and others on and around Earth a few days to prepare.
Stronger sun, hotter temps, more storms from evaporative cooling. Any rebuttal, global warming hysterics? Model or not, it is a hard, scientific fact that the Sun goes through these types of phases.
“It’s Bush’s fault!”
Thanks.
Meanwhile, I found this little article over at Al Jazeera, while looking to see if they had anything on the Chapel Hill Muslim wackjob:
On Monday, Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), said there was a link between human emissions of greenhouse gases and rising temperatures.
He said: “If one looks at just the scientific evidence that’s been collected, it’s certainly becoming far more compelling. There is no question about it.”
Sure there is. Plenty of questions. How about releasing that study now, instead of waiting till 2007, and proving your assertion?
I think we should have the President ask Al-Gore to do a study (stationed in the Sahara perhaps since he loves Arabs so much).
A couple of years in the desert with the Sun doing “her” thing would be just what Al-Gore needs to finish off frying whatever is left of his grey matter.
The way Al Gore is going, it wouldn’t take a whole lot. Dude went from stiff to mega insane.
