Let me stop laughing for just a few moments to write this. Democrats really do think the American People are stupid to believe this crap:

Eyeing House and Senate elections this fall, Democrats are stepping up their effort to cut into the public perception that Republicans are stronger on national security.

Congressional Democrats vow to provide U.S. agents with the resources to hunt down Osama bin Laden and ensure a “responsible redeployment of U.S. forces” from Iraq in 2006 in a national security policy statement House and Senate Democratic leaders were announcing Wednesday.

“We need a new direction on national security, and leaders with policies that are tough and smart. That is what Democrats offer,” Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said in remarks prepared for delivery Wednesday.

Yeah. Sure. Democrats have been Surrender Monkeys since the late 60’s. Their track record proves it. Their votes in Congress prove it. But, now they are going to “be smart” about it:

 His counterpart in the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.,) said Democrats were providing a fresh strategy — “one that is strong and smart, which understands the challenges America faces in a post 9/11 world, and one that demonstrates that Democrats are the party of real national security.”

A smarter war. You know, because Democrats ideas are just too nuanced for the masses. Who the hell needs a smarter war? We need a more vicious one, where terrorists and the countries that support them get the crap kicked out of them.

They say: “We will ensure 2006 is a year of significant transition to full Iraqi sovereignty, with the Iraqis assuming primary responsibility for security and governing their country and with the responsible redeployment of U.S. forces.”  

That means cutting and running.

I’d like to tell you what the official website of the Democratic Party says, but, there is nothing on there about this.

I’d like to tell you what the Democratic Underground says about this, but, again, they have no posts about this, either.

Nor does John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or Russ Feingold, among others.

So, this so called National Security plan is even less then empty rhetoric. Not that that is unexpected from the Party of Surrender.

Let’s look at some of their “ideas:”

Double the size of our Special Forces, increase our human intelligence capabilities, and ensure our intelligence is free from political pressure. (how? Anyhow, Dems have always been the first to call for cuts in the military and intelligence budgets)

Secure by 2010 loose nuclear materials that terrorists could use to build nuclear weapons or “dirty bombs.” (how? Are you going to invade Russia, it’s former Republics, and China?)

Redouble efforts to stop nuclear weapons development in Iran and North Korea. (It was Democrats, ie Bill Clinton, who gave N. Korea the reactor. Leftards)

Screen 100 percent of containers and cargo bound for the U.S. in ships or airplanes at the point of origin and safeguard America’s nuclear and chemical plants, and food and water supplies. (good f’ing luck with that one!)

Provide firefighters, emergency medical workers, police officers, and other workers on the front lines with the training, staffing, equipment, and cutting edge technology they need. (Dems are the first ones to condemn those folks over any mistake or supposed mistake)

Achieve energy independence for America by 2020 by eliminating reliance on oil from the Middle East and other unstable regions of the world. (as long as we do not drill in the USA)

Increase production of alternate fuels from America’s heartland including bio-fuels, geothermal, clean coal, fuel cells, solar and wind; promote hybrid and flex fuel vehicle technology and manufacturing; enhance energy efficiency and conservation incentives. (but no windpower where any Dems, such as the Kennedy’s, can see them)

All in all, lots of yap yap, no actual details. The norm from the Dems. Let’s see if they even attempt to pass any Bill in Congress that implements any of their “ideas.”
