The typical "progressive"
TwoSparkles If there is another 9/11 in this country… …what will the terrorist act(s) be?
After reading Fisk's article in The Guardian–and watching the United States provoke our enemies with horrendous actions–I am convinced that a major terrorist attack is inevitable.
We are openly cultivating rage. Our nation, practically stood alone–giving the green light for the slaughter of more innocent, Lebanese civilians. We didn't even suggest diplomacy or try to broker peace. We proclaimed that the slaughter of children should continue. Furthermore, Iraq is an out-of-control, petri-dish-breeding-ground of terrorists and terror.
You know, because everything is the fault of the United States. 9/11 was our fault. Of course, that is supposing that Bushco didn't perpetrate it themselves. Cannot forget that.
A few choice responses:
- 1. It's likely and exactly what BushCo wants.
- 18. I didn't intend to imply that… …however, I fear my own government substantially more than any foreign terrorists. In fact, I believe the illegitimate group of criminal fascists that is our government are terrorizing the Middle East.
- 2. I think if we have another 9/11 occur within our borders, it will have been due to Cheneys Minions and their pervasion's perpetrated upon this nation yet again. I can see one sole nuke being utilized for their purpose. This will have nothing to do with the Middle East.
- 9. Well the terrorist's act will be that they steal another election. Probably they blow some things up beforehand, for keeping the public's fear factor working to their advantage.
So, let's appease the terrorists. Those who want want security and peace through appeasement will recieve neither.
- The idea of reasoning with terrorists without force or with appeasement is naive, and I think it's dangerous. George Allen
- No people in history have ever survived who thought they could protect their freedom by making themselves inoffensive to their enemies. Dean Acheson
- An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last. Winston Churchill
- No man can tame a tiger into a kitten by stroking it. There can be no appeasement with ruthlessness. There can be no reasoning with an incendiary bomb. Franklin D Roosevelt
- Appeasers believe that if you keep on throwing steaks to a tiger, the tiger will become a vegetarian. Heywood Broun
- The one sure way to conciliate a tiger is to allow oneself to be devoured. Konrad Adenauer
- You may gain temporary appeasement by a policy of concession to violence, but you do not gain lasting peace that way. Anthony Eden
- I seem to smell the stench of appeasement in the air. Margaret Thatcher
As I have done before, I do have to give some props to some of the DU responders for taking an opposite, and non-BDS, postition. I think most of the really hard core DU wackos have migrated to the Huffington Post as of late.
