Morning, y'all, Jebediah here. Sallami had his say earlier, now it is my turn to get some love.
In what has to be one of the funniest, and most ironic, statements made this young year, give it up for Mike Nifong!
DURHAM – District Attorney Mike Nifong said after a private swearing-in Tuesday that he intends to help Durham heal the wounds of the Duke University lacrosse case.
The prosecutor, who faces ethics charges for his public statements about the sexual assault case against three former lacrosse players, began his four-year term of office in a ceremony closed to avoid reporters.
"I don't feel that I'm part of the problem. I feel that I have assisted in revealing the problem," Nifong said. "Durham has some healing to do. And I need to be part of that healing process, and I need to have something to do with how we move forward."
Not. Part. Of. The. Problem. Spoken like a true liberal.
I wonder who actually caused the problem that needs healing, in Nifong's mind. Perhaps the accuser, who cannot even remember if she was actually raped? The cops who showed only Duke lacrosse players in a photo lineup? Or the DNA testing company who hid evidence in collusion with Nifong? Maybe the national media, who forced Nifong to talk to them nonstop, or the local media, who Nifong will not talk to at all? No telling, but, it certainly can't be Nifong's fault, right? Liberal doctrine, it is always someone else's fault.
Hot Air has video. Blue Star Chronicles see's sympathy towards Nifong.
Meanwhile, Duke is invinting two of the players back to school (via the Raleigh N&O)
Duke University will allow two former lacrosse players accused of sexual assault to return to campus as students in good standing.
The university informed Reade Seligmann and Collin Finnerty in letters dated Jan. 2 that they were welcome to come back to Duke for the coming semester. They they had been placed on interim suspension and then administrative leave of absence. The third accused player, David Evans, graduated from Duke last year.
Kudos to Duke for doing the right thing, ie, innocent till proven guilty.

Nifong wants to help Durham heal? let him take up a (disclaimer: metaphorical, OK?) rope and find a (n equally metaphorical) tree for a solo (again, metaphorical) necktie party…
Nifong’s lies don’t surprise me. The North Carolina legal system is very corrupt. I have exposed North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper’s fraud on the US Supreme Court at http://www.ncjusticefraud.com for 14 months, without
any objection from him.
