Senator Russ Feingold, who, on his government paid for website, stated that he would introduce legislation to redeploy most US troops within 4-6 months from Iraq, did just that, according to a pandering at the Hufftard Post
…I've decided to start the 110th Congress off by addressing these very two issues. Yesterday, I introduced legislation to establish a timetable to redeploy our troops from Iraq within six months. Earlier this week in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, President Bush called for Republicans and Democrats to "build bipartisan consensus" on Iraq. Unfortunately, he will not be able to build consensus – or gain the support of the American people – by perpetuating his failed Iraq strategy. As the President mulls over changes to his failed strategy, he should recognize that maintaining an indefinite military presence in Iraq or sending more troops to Iraq will only perpetuate the burden that this war is having on our brave troops and on our national security.
My bill proposes a real change in policy in Iraq. It calls on the President to redeploy U.S. forces from Iraq within six months while allowing for a minimal number of forces to remain in Iraq for targeted counter-terrorism activities, training of Iraqi security forces, and for the protection of U.S. infrastructure and personnel. This Administration must recognize what the American people already know: It's past time to get our troops out of Iraq. We must redeploy our troops from Iraq so that we can focus on the global threats to our national security – like the ones in Somalia, Afghanistan and elsewhere – that have only grown while this Administration has gotten us bogged down in Iraq.
Yes, it does propose a real change in policy. From trying to win to running away. But, that is the Democratic way. They forced a retreat from Vietnam, a war they started, BTW, and now they hope to repeat that "triumph."
He did try this previously back in November, as well. Will it go farther this time? It appears that it is S. 4046, though no details have been posted at Thomas, yet.
Hot Air is discussing the letter from Pelosi and Reid asking President Bush for "phased redeployment." Liberals never do actually say what they mean, do they?

Not only Feingold. Peeeeloshi and Dirty Harry put it in writing. We need copies of the letter sent to the president. When millions die we need the cause in writing for out court cases against the politicians. Can’t sue them, then that only leaves one cure, hang them. I’m as serious as a heart attack. It will come to shooting war in the U.S. when the terrorists start their slaughter because the dhimmi’s invited it.
“our court cases”
It is amazing how so many HAVE forgotten that the Democrats started Vietnam. And, Johnson was the one that drove it into the mess that it became. Democrats just do not understand current day warfare anymore.
And, fast forward from Vietnam, we have another passle of Democrats unable to grasp the enemy, war, warfare, and what it takes to win. I’ve been spending a bunch of time studying generational warfare and it is clear just how bad the Democrats and Liberals are making it for us all …
Dems live in their own little Surrender Monkey world.
