Bush Crashed My Desktop

F'ing thing all of a sudden got these major slowdowns, and I cannot even run any f'ing programs long enough to do any scans before the f'ing thing locks up. Must be George W Bush's fault, I know it.

Yes, I tried safe mode, and system restore. Nope, no change. Tried lots of things, to the tune of maybe 4 hours of time.

Now, I have to go through the whole process of using the restore disk, then loading all that f'ing shat that is all Bush's fault. Updating Windows to SP2, IE 7, Firefox, Norton, photo programs, and all the other shat. Woo hoo! Damn that George Bush! ;)

Of course, this is the reason I keep most stuff either on a 120GB external USB HD, or backed up to same. Also have an old 8GB for some stuff, too. This way, Bush can't screw me.

No more true words could ever be spoken, or in your case written. You DO realize you NEVER would have experienced the Crash had Kerry won in 2004, right? Now I betcha you’d like a voter recount in Ohio?!? ;-)

  2. Finally finished up around 6:30. Everything loaded, everything copied. What a pain in the azz

Ha!!!! ‘Tis the season for crashing desktops.

“Hey, how do you know a pirate’s been using a computer? The “R” key is worn out.”

“Hey, how else do you know a pirate’s been using a computer? The serial number’s been scratched off.”

  4. I think it is hosed. Hardware issue. Still getting the same freezes. Going to try the restore disk, and not load all the normal programs, see what happens. If fragged, i will take it over to be fixed. I do not use the desktop enough to go out and buy a new one.

Unfortunately I’m bad about putting all my eggs into one basket. My desktop is mostly fixed, need to take care of some minor things. But all five iTunes libraries are intact and all of my business stuff is still there. I did run out and by a notebook though. So in a few weeks time we went from one computer to three.

  6. I’m good about backing up. I have a 10gb external for my laptop, and 120gb for desktop, which I also use for the laptop, too.

I really do not want to have to buy a desktop. I really do not use it that much.
