The anti-war movement has yet to reach the scale of the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s and 1970s. Most fledgling Iraq war activists say they are speaking out because the war is affecting so many soldiers' family members and friends.
I call bull shat. They could care less about the military, their family members, or their friends, unless they happen to toe the kook fringe line. It is more about hatred of the military, President Bush, and America as a world power.

More than 1,700 active duty, reserve, and guard service members have signed a petition to Congress called "An Appeal for Redress," started last year to urge a "prompt withdrawal of all American military forces and bases from Iraq."
On the flip side, at least 1,500 soldiers are supporting an "Appeal for Courage" asking Congress to "fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat."
Interesting to see the media give "don't cut and run" side some play, but, the story does focus more on the cut and run crowd, both starting and ending with them, using feelings, not facts. It is also an interesting tact those on the left are taking, pretending they actually care about the military as something other then political fodder. When push comes to shove, though, they will be spitting on them and calling them baby killers in a heartbeat.
