How soon will the moonbats start to complain about this
A senior al Qaeda commander, accused in an assassination plot against Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and in attacks in Afghanistan, has been detained by U.S. authorities and transferred to the military prison at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the Pentagon said yesterday.
Abdul al Hadi al-Iraqi, an Iraqi national who joined al Qaeda in the late 1990s and has been identified as a top aide to founder Osama bin Laden, was captured last year while trying to make his way to Iraq "to manage al Qaeda's affairs and possibly focus on operations outside Iraq against Western targets," Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said.
Mr. Whitman declined to say when or where al-Iraqi was seized, but before being turned over to the Defense Department, he was held by the CIA. He also said al-Iraqi had met with al Qaeda members in Iran and was associated with leaders of other extremist groups allied with al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan, including the Taliban.
Let him rot.
Of course, the NY Times has issues with this, taking the "why are we mean to terrorists" side
Last fall, Mr. Bush declared the agency’s interrogations “one of the most successful intelligence efforts in American history.” But its secret detention of terrorism suspects has been widely criticized by human rights organizations and foreign governments as a violation of international law that relied on interrogation methods verging on torture.
Human rights advocates expressed anger that the United States continued a program of secret detention, and some wondered why the C.I.A. claimed it needed harsh interrogation methods to extract information from detainees when it appeared that Mr. Iraqi had given up information using Pentagon interrogation practices.
We care why? Oh, right, because the Democrats are more invested in opposing everything that Bush does then actually protecting the United States.
But, wait, it gets better!
The al-Qaeda leader who is thought to have devised the plan for the July 7 suicide bombings in London and an array of terrorist plots against Britain has been captured by the Americans.
So, that is good news, isn't it? I would think so. Au contraire, rabbit!
Across the news world right now, the number one story is the terror arrests in Saudi Arabia, complete with Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden and airplanes as terrorist bombs.
And we want a full investigation into how it is possible the morning after the first Democratic Debate, a nine month old investigation into weapons that have been buried in the desert for years happens to break, complete we might add, with tv footage.
Bullshit.
How many times do we have to see "terror alerts" in the middle of Presidential Campaigns that turn out to be false alarms? (snip)
How many times are we going to get yahoos who don't have a clue but are paraded as Al Qaeda inspired and shown on tv but later released with no charges?
How many times will this happen before we, and every American, realize the depths to which this bastards will sink?
Are we saying that perhaps this was orchestrated to the day? Absolutely.
Are we saying that the Saudi Arabian government just might be helping out the Republican Party here? You bet.
We call bullshit.
UPDATE — Here's More Bullshit. Wow. Today of all days, the Pentagon announces that a "top Al Qaeda figure" is being moved from the CIA to Gitmo. Amazing.
See, it is all about the timing. This is why there can be no serious discussion between the Left and Right regarding the war on terror, because it is all political with them, based on BushCo hatred, and they live in a state of denial.
And, of course, there are several pages of comments that are just like the story. I'll let you read at your own peril. Please do not drink coffee at the same time, I will not be blamed for scalded nasal passages.

Biiiiig fish. Not only did he operate both in Iraq and Afghanistan, he’s been in the crosshairs since the very beginning — or even before the beginning, actually. Click and scroll down towards the bottom and you’ll find him listed just a few lines below Osama himself in Executive Order 13224, executed by Bush on September 23, 2001……

He was a high ranking military person in Saddams military in the 90’s? Why that cannot be because there was no operational relationship between al queda and Iraq, right? oh by the way screw the NY Slimes and their jihadi lovin a**es.
Move this Islamic terrorist to Ground Zero in Manhattan…Erect a large wooden cross dipped in pork juice….Hang this bastard to THE CROSS in one of the two WTC footprints…and let the New Yorkers deal with this filth…but don’t kill him too quickly…do it slowly and film it for Al-Jazeera…! He has to suffer 1,000 crucifixtions… yes – at least 1,000!
