These Democrat surrender monkeys are incredible. They want to surrender in Iraq to Al Qaeda, Iran, actual Iraqi insurgents, and extremist Islam in general, but they refuse to surrender in putting up surrender legislation. Got that?
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The House of Representatives on Wednesday failed to override President Bush’s veto of a $124 billion war spending bill that included a deadline for U.S. troops to pull out of Iraq.
The 222-203 vote was far short of the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto.
I’d like to know who the extra voters were this time. Last time, it was 218-208. Guess we will have to see if any other Republicans turned surrender monkey. From the C-Span screen shot at Hot Air, looks like might not have been, but, 6 Democrats decided that surrender was not the best thing.
Republicans have expressed a willingness to put benchmarks for progress on Iraq’s government, as long as there is no U.S. withdrawal time frame, Pelosi said. "Benchmarks without teeth are, what, a conversation?" Pelosi asked.
"Now into the fifth year of a failed policy, this administration should get a clue," Pelosi said. "It’s not working."
Pelosi and her gang have made sure of that, or at least the impression of that, haven’t they? I’m still waiting for their ideas from years ago on how to achieve victory. Just not holding my breath.
Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-California, replied, "You’ve made your point. You had your dog-and-pony show. You’ve posed for political holy pictures on TV. Now what is your plan to support the troops?"
Their plan is to bring them home, then give them union jobs flipping burgers.
Apparently, in a quick update, it was just two Republicans.

It’s a shame about those two RINOs.
You know the Rhinoceros is a very nearsighted beast. Apparently these two suffer from the same affliction.
It’s good to see President Bush stand up again. This is what, the second time he’s used his veto pen? I’m glad to see that the House is still capable of doing what the Democrats have shown since they came back to power… Nothing.
Now maybe we’ll see some real funding for our troops without strings attached.
