Federal investigators last night arrested six men who were planning a heavily-armed armed attack against soldiers at Fort Dix as part of a jihad against America, according to two law enforcement sources.
The men had conducted surveillance of the Army base and were caught allegedly attempting to purchase AK-47s to carry out their plan, one of the sources said.
The would-be attackers, ethnic Albanians who had been under surveillance by the FBI for months, practiced by shooting paintball guns and real weapons in a rural area of the Poconos, one source said. They also allegedly watched jihadist videos in which Osama bin Laden urged them toward martyrdom.
Peaceful.
GAZA CITY (CNN) — Palestinian militants on Sunday attacked a United Nations school festival in southern Gaza, killing the bodyguard of a Fatah lawmaker, according to Palestinian security and medical sources.
Six others were wounded in the incident at the al-Umariya School in Rafah, near the Gaza-Egypt border, the sources said.
The gun and homemade bomb attack on the school began with a protest by Muslim extremists in long robes, who said a festival the school was hosting was un-Islamic, according to The Associated Press.
Peaceful.
One was a shy, slender young woman who spoke no English when she was brought from Pakistan to enter an arranged marriage with a stranger in Virginia. The other was a self-confident professional, born in Turkey but raised in the United States, who thought she knew what she was doing when she married an educated Muslim man in Maryland.
Yet both women fell under the sway of the same powerful pressures that sometimes reach around the globe to keep Muslim wives in the Washington region imprisoned in abusive marriages, unable to fight the gossip and shame that come with defying their culture and religion, isolated from help that is just a three-digit phone number away.
Domestic abuse is hardly unique to Muslim immigrant communities; it is a sad fact of life in families of all backgrounds and origins. Yet, according to social workers, Islamic clerics and women’s advocates, women from Muslim-majority cultures face extra pressure to submit to violent husbands and intense social ostracism if they muster the courage to file charges or flee.
A major obstacle to recognizing and fighting abuse, experts said, can be Islam itself. The religion prizes female modesty and fidelity while allowing men to divorce at will and have several wives at once. Many Muslims also believe that men have the right to beat their wives. An often-quoted verse in the Koran says a husband may chastise a disobedient wife, but the phrasing in Arabic is open to several interpretations.
Peaceful. And, where are all those liberal women’s groups hiding when we hear about the way women are abused by Islam?
Back to New Jersey, many have wondered why attack a military base with six people. Well, for one thing, they are doing a lot of retraining for Iraq deployment on base. I know someone who may be redeployed to Iraq, and he and his unit will be going to Dix for 2 to 3 months training up for the deployment.

- These arrests are the direct result of he Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB), a provision of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, a federal law of the United States which the Bush/Republican "Rubber-Stamp Congress" let expire.
Obviously, those who made these arrests are NOT Bushie-loyalists and will be asked to resign, shortly.
