After hiding under the skirts of Iran, Al-Sadr returned to Iraq, to be told

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States on Friday urged radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr to play “a useful and positive role” in Iraq after his dramatic return to frontline Iraqi politics.

“Now that he’s back from four months in Iran, we hope he’ll play a useful and positive role in the development of Iraq,” said White House national security spokesman Gordon Johndroe.

And his response?

(Washington Post) After months out of public view — time which U.S. officials say was spent mostly in neighboring Iran — Sadr arrived at the mosque under heavy security and rekindled his trademark anti-American rhetoric.

“No, no for the devil. No, no for America. No, no for the occupation. No, no for Israel,” Sadr chanted to a crowd estimated at around 6,000, the Associated Press reported.

So, the U.S. response?

BAGHDAD – A day after radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr resurfaced to end nearly four months in hiding and demand U.S. troops leave Iraq, American forces raided his Sadr City stronghold and killed five suspected militia fighters in air strikes Saturday.

Ask, and ye shall recieve.

•  NO doubt they are there winning hearts and minds to FASCISM!!
•  The US military is not known for their brains and neither is their Commander in Chief.

  Would you be in the military if you knew your Commander in Chief had the innate Karma of being ‘Born Loser’??

• They went after Al Sadr, they can’t have anyone telling them to go home before they get control of Iraqi oil.
  That is the true tragedy to them, no matter what Bush told that reporter – If they have to leave Iraq without control of Iraqi oil.
• General Al Sadr, the Guerilla commander of the Muslem Minute Men and the Iraq Freedom Fighters is about to make his move. He is about to slaughter US troops by the hundreds in bloody street fighting in the slums. House to house. Thousands of US troops will be wounded.

  Since the Pentagon has a history of lieing, it is hard to tell if US troops really killed a top Al Sadr leader, or just killed a Muslem Minute Man Private who looks like him, or just made the story up to satify Bu$h and company.

It’s still early, not long since the post was put up. Give it time, should ferment, though you can also find some wonderful commentary in this Huff Post, which was about Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Silly libs. Can we question their love of the troops yet? I’m sure they will show it as they protest over Memorial Day weekend.
