This is your modern media. Either they cannot understand the difference between hundreds and dozens, or they just do not really care that, as of last count well over 400 police were injured, 25 of them seriously, depending on which version you read. Liberals usually seem to fall on the side of the crazy protesters rioters.

The clashes left smoke from burning cars and the sting of tear gas drifting through the harborfront area in the north German port of Rostock. Some 146 police were hurt, 25 of them seriously.

It is funny how liberals always say they decry violence, yet it is those on the left who are the ones causing the violence at protests. What’s that word that begins with an "h" and ends with a "y" that I am thinking of?

ROSTOCK, Germany (Reuters) — Organizers of anti-G8 demonstrations and the media on Sunday condemned violent clashes between police and a hardcore group of militants in the German port city of Rostock in which 1,000 people were injured.
A peaceful demonstration involving tens of thousands of diverse protesters was marred on Saturday by the worst street violence seen in Germany for years when hundreds of black-clad activists bombarded police with stones and torched three cars.
Peaceful? Diverse? Lefties were going nuts in their violence. Neither diverse nor peaceful. Unless they were referring to there certainly being representatives from progressives, liberals, socialists, and anarchists there.
"This was inexcusable and that is the opinion of all the groups concerned," said Mani Stenner, a spokesman for the organizers of a week-long program of demonstrations in the port city. "We hope that this situation was an exception."
Police blamed the violence on some 2,000 militants known as the "black block." Some 430 police officers and 520 protesters were injured and police said 128 people were arrested in the clashes at the city’s harbor.
The exeption to liberals protests is peace. Again, it isn’t conservatives doing this. I mean, geez, during the 2004 GOP convention, liberals were smearing feces on themselves so they wouldn’t be arrested. They are out of their minds.
As far as week long protests go, get a job!
And notice the number who were injured. Way more then "dozens."
"We have a lot of work to do to consider how we can prevent these violent events from happening again," Stenner said.
Here’s an idea: don’t have any. They accomplish little except to end up as headlines about violence.
