For those that haven’t heard, Eric Alterman was arrested yesterday during the Surrender Monkey debates (h/t Hot Air). Well, Eric is over at the HuffPost explaining what happened, and, to me, sure looks like he is doing it in an adult, reasonable manner so as to not feed the trolls and have IMPORTANT ACTION ALERTS go out. Cause we all know how grounded and sedate liberals are.
One very important point:

- Just imagine, Eric, if you were poor and black, how you would have been treated. Actually, as you described the incident, I wish you would have shown a little more "conviction" in your efforts regarding the supposed "misunderstanding." You’re a good writer, but you sound a little "wimpy."

If a cop asks you who you are and what your doing just say `what law have a broken officer?` They hate that because you are asking THEM a question & cops hate having to answer their `employers` questions!
Protect & Serve! - You think this incident was a misunderstanding. To me, it sounds more like arbitrary harassment of someone who had a perfect right to be where he was, doing what he was doing. In view of the standard way of doing things at Grand Oil Party functions, which for the past 6 years have been taking place in the stead of government functions, I guess the normal has become the potentially criminal. At least it’s clear that for the Repigs the criminal has become the normal. Wanna bet that cop was a Repig? (now we start to get a little wonky)

- I hate to make generalizations, Eric, but the cause of this was "police attitude" plain and simple… some of them can’t distinguish between willful disobedience and unintentional disobedience (your kind), nor do they care to.
For the most part, none of the usual insanity, just some mildly amusing comments.

In light of our recent discussions on diversity in the progressive blogosphere, I’ve had an idea and I want to give it a try. I’d like to hear recommendations for good progressive blogs run by women and/or minorities, which you think don’t receive enough attention and/or general blogosphere love.
Apparently not many, as there were only 14 comments, though they did make some recommendations. Of course, it matters little, cause, as I have written many times, it is maybe 10-15 liberal sites that set the progressive agenda. Everyone else is superfluous to the conversation.
