Amazing what we find out when Democrats say what they really think (h/t Indian Chris)
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama came under fire Tuesday for saying that U.S. troops in Afghanistan are "just air-raiding villages and killing civilians." The junior senator from Illinois made the comment Monday at a campaign stop in Nashua, New Hampshire.
"We’ve got to get the job done there," he said of Afghanistan. "And that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there."
Can we question his support of the military now? Should be interesting to see the way he and his campaign, along with the other Defeatocrats, spins this one. How will the blame the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy/Noise Machine?
The AP jumps out to "fact check" the story. I do believe the AP missed the point.
MyDD does this "it’s the Republicans fault" schtick. I kinda missed the part where Jonathan Singer, you know, defends Osama Obama’s comment.
The Carpetbagger Report blames the GOP, too. Apparently, only Dems are allowed to "pounce" on their opponents comments. No defense of Obama smearing our military.
Woops! Liberal Values actually writes "the right wing noise machine." LOL! Of course, Ron, kinda forgot to actually defend Obama’s smear, too.
The DU doesn’t even seem to want to touch this, nor does the HuffPost.

Talk about handing the nomination to Hillary on a silver platter…forget about Hillary having to create a Sister Souljah moment, this was a slow straight pitch right across the plate. Looks like Obama’s not ready for prime time after all…
Don’t need to wory about Hillary. She’s really out of touch:
Today, for instance, [Hillary] had to confront the modern supermarket.
Visiting the exhibition hall of the National Grocers Association convention here, Mrs. Clinton lingered at the mock-up of a checkout lane. She signed her name on an electronic pad used to detect check forgeries.
“If some guy came in and spelled Hillary Clinton differently, could you catch it?” the senator asked. “Yes,” she was told, and she shook his head in wonder.
Then she grabbed a quart of milk, a light bulb and a bag of candy and ran them over an electronic scanner. The look of wonder flickered across her face again as she saw the item and price registered on the cash register screen.
“This is for checking out?” asked Mrs. Clinton. “I just took a tour through the exhibits here,” he told the grocers later. “Amazed by some of the technology.”
Her spokesman assured reporters that she had seen the senator in a grocery store. A year or so ago. In Kennebunkport.
Some grocery stores began using electronic scanners as early as 1976, and the devices have been in general use in American supermarkets for a decade.
i’ve never seen anything like what you’ve described in my grocery store. give hillary a break, you fuckwad!
