Shilpa Shetty Arrested Over Gere Kiss

Can’t blame this one on the Muslims, folks

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty has been arrested in India over her infamous clinch with Richard Gere, after airport officials said she was still wanted in connection with obscenity charges.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner was released only after prolonged questioning after being stopped at Mumbai Airport, according to reports, on her way to the opening of the Miss Bollywood musical in Berlin.

Shetty was held at Mumbai Airport by immigration officials who had no record of a Supreme Court ruling which overturned a ban on her leaving the country.

And said she was still wanted for obscenity charges over the kiss.

Conservative hard-line Hindus claimed that the pair violated the country’s anti-obscenity laws.

People may call India the largest democracy on Earth (population wise), but, just like myself and others being banned in India, where is the freedom? Being arrested over a kiss? Ridiculous.

I’d be kissin’ on that too, given half a chance. How about you?

Looks like good ole Rusty had this one up yesterday, as well.

… quite a different ending from his movie ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’ eh? And not a peep out of NOW, NARAL, or The View, eh? Way to go Hollyweirdos, you played tonsil hockey with an islamo and she’ll probably be buried up to her neck stoned to death! Islam or I Slam, the religion of peace, fear and intimidation?

Conservatives are always anti sex, it’s like they are afraid of it.
Darth it is the HINDUS who are upset in India. And where is the outrage from Christian Evangilists ?
Also she was not “arrested” at the airport. She was not allowed to leave India. She is still facing charges but they will be dismissed.
People always seem to like to be able to blame the other “side” without taking a good look at their own.
Can you imagine how silly it would look if the “left” was screaming for Bush to do something about this “arrest” in India ?
