I’m glad our federal government is working for the people of the United States, aren’t you?
The Rev. Sam Childers says he might need an attorney.
For more than a decade, he has transported needed supplies to operate the orphanage’s power generator in a clearly marked household plastic container. That is until April, when 3 quarts of motor oil, two bottles of diesel treatment and a can of spray lubricant in the crate were confiscated by airline screeners.
Mr. Childers, president of World Missions Shekinah Fellowship, apologized in a subsequent letter to U.S. government officials, saying he was not aware the supplies were classified as “hazardous materials” and illegal to ship by commercial plane.
The minister thought the matter was resolved, but six months later, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) notified Mr. Childers that he will be fined $28,000 for the transgression.
This is the kind of absurdity that we get from los federales, who seem to live for beauracratic silliness and sticking to their guidelines. There is absolutely no need to fine Rev. Childers. Last time I looked, he was not an Islamic terrorist, nor does he even come close to the profile. He simply made a mistake. Not everyone knows the regulations for what they can send. Granted, he should have checked to make sure, but this is just silly, and shows that the FAA specifically, and the federales in general, really do not work for us.
Jim Peters, FAA spokesman for the Eastern region, said Mr. Childers has the option to obtain an attorney and arrange for an informal conference with an FAA attorney to further discuss the matter.
“Everyone is subject to the same standards. We are not zeroing in on one person or organization. This would apply to anyone, including you or myself,” Mr. Peters said.
I’m sure the FAA isn’t. They sure do not zero in on Middle Eastern men who fit a certain profile.

That is absurd! He will get an attorney, spend thousands, but not quite $28,000 and walk away with a warning!
Yeah right. After the Gulf War Bush #41 and Bubba Clinton flew our a**es into the Somalia disaster. We airlifted food and medical supplies for the poor little African Somaliis… and we flew out 19 dead US Army Rangers in transfer cases from Warlord Adid’s ambush in Mogadishu. “For the poor children again, eh?” Like Rawanda’s 800,000 Hutu’s and Tootsies slaughters didn’t teach the world anything? Been there and done that 1976-1997. That’s right, CNN and the liberal elites know it all.
