Noted time and time again, the climate change movement seems to be dominated by three themes: money, replacing capitalism with socialism, and prestige. Personally, the middle part seems to be a smaller part of the whole theme, while the other two are much larger, particularly the money aspect. Why else would the climahysteria leaders not only refuse to lead the life they espouse for everyone else, but put even more CO2, which they say is the world killer, in the atmosphere?

NUSA DUA, Indonesia (Reuters) – Traders are already betting on a new global climate deal to succeed the Kyoto Protocol, as talks in Bali on Friday inched towards a two-year negotiating agenda for an expanded global climate pact.

Financiers are buying rights to emit planet-warming greenhouses gases after present Kyoto commitments expire in 2012, hoping that countries will agree new, tougher emissions limits — and drive demand for such permits.

“It’s a great bet,” said one trader attending the talks on the tropical Indonesian island. The new, more speculative offsets came at a substantial discount, the trader, who declined to be named, added.

The Kyoto Protocol allows 36 rich countries to meet limits from 2008-12 on their production of greenhouse gases by buying emissions rights from developing nations.

That pretty much confirms what climate change is about: giving money from rich countries to poor countries (socialism) and carbon traders making lots of moola off the trades. How much would you climahysterics like to bet that all the people saying that climate change will kill us all have a vested monetary interest in those trades, which also allow them to increase their prestige?

Government officials and activists flying to Bali, Indonesia, for the United Nations meeting on climate change will cause as much pollution as 20,000 cars in a year.

The delegates each will produce an average 4.07 metric tons of carbon dioxide, or CO2, to reach the resort island 950 kilometers (600 miles) from Jakarta, according to estimates e- mailed to Bloomberg by the UN agency holding the conference.

Some of the 187 nations participating in the two-week forum promised to offset their so-called carbon footprint by planting trees or buying emission credits. The symbolic actions won’t help stop global warming, some scientists say.
