Mike Nifong and the city of Durham face another lawsuit stemming from the now-discredited criminal investigation involving three members of Duke University’s 2006 men’s lacrosse team.
Ryan McFadyen, Matthew Wilson and Breck Wilson, who were not indicted in the 2006 rape investigation, filed the lawsuit in federal court Tuesday. The suit names among others; Duke University and its faculty, its police department and medical center as defendants. It also names the city manager and the DNA lab that tested the lacrosse players.
The suit states the defendants tried to “railroad 47 Duke University students as either principals or accomplices based upon Crystal Mangum’s allegations of rape and kidnapping.” Mangum, an exotic dancer, made the allegations after an off-campus party on March 13, 2006, involving members of the Duke lacrosse team.
Oh, goody, more money coming from the tax-payers pockets, should they win. Thanks, Mike!
and I am sure some liberal ambulance chaser like Edwards will be happy to take their case for “emotional abuse” they suffered
