Sure, many things that are classified as state secrets really aren’t, and some people who classify them as state secrets are on power trips – this applies to both Democrats and Republicans – but, you know that this is yet another way to make it easier for foreign enemies and agents to get America’s secrets
More than 50 years after the landmark Supreme Court case, U.S. v. Reynolds, which created the state secrets privilege, Congress is considering whether to change how such claims are reviewed to avoid abuse.
Sens. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Arlen Specter (R-Penn.) introduced legislation that would allow an independent judge to review the government’s claims that information cannot be released in an effort to protect national security. Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said he would introduce similar legislation in the House soon.
Doesn’t this just make you feel great about protecting our national security?
Anything Kennedy or Specter is connected with becomes a danger to the lives of Americans. Nothing new here.
Seems like a Squad of 7 good men with rifles is in order, don’t you think?
