I reckon it would be mean to say he is suffering from Alzheimers, but, more then likely, he is just suffering from advanced Progressivism
JERUSALEM (CNN) — Former President Jimmy Carter said Monday that Hamas is prepared to accept peace with Israel if the Palestinians approve any agreement negotiated with Israel.
Carter’s comments came after controversial meetings Friday and Saturday in Damascus, Syria, with exiled militant Hamas leader Khalid Meshaal.
“If President (Mahmoud) Abbas of the Palestinians and Prime Minister (Ehud) Olmert reach an agreement for peace, and if it is submitted to the Palestinians and the Palestinians approve it… Hamas will accept it,” Carter said in a Monday interview with CNN.
Yes, just like they and the other Palestinian terror groups have, such as when Israel pulled out of Gaza and Southern Lebanon. Peace reigned!
“I’m not a negotiator, I’m just trying to understand different opinions and communicate, provide communications between people that won’t communicate with each other,” Carter said Tuesday at the beginning of his trip.
Oh, they communicate. Such as when Hamas sends suicide bombers to kill Israeli’s in the middle of Carter’s negotiations.
Update: And here we gooooooooooo!
Hamas would accept a Palestinian state on only part of the land it claims and would grant Israel a 10-year “hudna,” or truce, as an implicit proof of recognition if Israel withdraws from those areas, the Palestinian militant group’s leader said Monday.
Khaled Mashaal’s comments were one of the clearest outlines Hamas has given for what it would do if Israel withdrew from the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem, which it seized in 1967. He suggested Hamas would accept Israel’s existence alongside a Palestinian state on the rest of the lands Israel has held since 1948.
Where have we heard this one before? And, last time I checked, that was land that Israel won by kicking the crap out of the combined Arab forces who got beat like Mondale in ’84.
However, Mashaal told reporters in Damascus that Hamas would not formally recognize Israel.
“We agree to a (Palestinian) state on pre-67 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital with genuine sovereignty without settlements but without recognizing Israel,” Mashaal said.
“We have offered a truce if Israel withdraws to the 1967 borders, a truce of 10 years as a proof of recognition,” he said. He said he made the offer to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter during talks Friday and Saturday in the Syrian capital.
Peace wihout recognition, and for only 10 years. That’ll work!
64% of the Israelis want to have face to face talks with Hamas. Do you think that they are all suffering from Alzheimers also ?http://www.newsweek.com/id/119881
Sheik Ryan… “!00% of the MOSSAD want to have face to ski mask talks with Hamas!”
Gotta love the NY POST in their cartoon yesterday:
What does Carter and an AK-47 and an IED have in common? Ryan knows all, eh?
