Say, Joe, have you looked at all the retreat and defeat your party has put forth? At Dick Durban comparing our troops to Nazi’s, at Ted Kennedy saying our troops at Abu Ghraid were the same as Saddam’s henchmen, at the way liberal groups, who, yes, vote Democrat, such as Code Pink, abuse our troops at recruiting stations-including actual violence, such as throwing Molotov cocktails through the windows, at how the sure to be Democrat presidential nominee said he would meet with the president of rogue nation Iran without preconditions, at liberals who release secret national security programs for the world to know, etc and so forth
JOE BIDEN is mad as – well, mad as a compulsively collegial US senator, one who is on a first-name basis with seemingly everyone in Washington, can be.
“I am so goddarn sick and tired of Democrats being portrayed as being weak on terror, weak on national defense, weak on foreign policy,” the Delaware Democrat tells me. “I ain’t taking it no more.” (btw, notice that the story at the Boston Globe is not a news report, but an op-ed)
OK, Joe, they put forth some legislation to make us stronger. Tell your liberal groups to stop assaulting our troops. Tell Obama it is a dumb idea to meet with Ahmadenijad. Condemn the NY Times for releasing several national security programs. Assail those who call for retreat. What? You won’t?
Me thinks he doth protest too much.
“We are a weaker, less secure, more vulnerable nation today under these bravado Republicans than we have been in the last half-century,” says Biden, who vows to provide any interested Democratic candidate with an overview of the ways in which Republican foreign policy has proved counterproductive.
Moving past the point that we have not been attacked in almost 7 years, and that we are fighting the radical Islamists in a place of our choosing, let’s ask another Joe to answer on how the Democrats have been doing (via Blogs For Victory)
The reversal began, like so much else in our time, on September 11, 2001. The attack on America by Islamist terrorists shook President Bush from the foreign policy course he was on. He saw September 11 for what it was: a direct ideological and military attack on us and our way of life. If the Democratic Party had stayed where it was in 2000, America could have confronted the terrorists with unity and strength in the years after 9/11.
Instead a debate soon began within the Democratic Party about how to respond to Mr. Bush. I felt strongly that Democrats should embrace the basic framework the president had advanced for the war on terror as our own, because it was our own. But that was not the choice most Democratic leaders made. When total victory did not come quickly in Iraq, the old voices of partisanship and peace at any price saw an opportunity to reassert themselves. By considering centrism to be collaboration with the enemy — not bin Laden, but Mr. Bush — activists have successfully pulled the Democratic Party further to the left than it has been at any point in the last 20 years.
Far too many Democratic leaders have kowtowed to these opinions rather than challenging them. That unfortunately includes Barack Obama, who, contrary to his rhetorical invocations of bipartisan change, has not been willing to stand up to his party’s left wing on a single significant national security or international economic issue in this campaign. (Joe Lieberman)
As Mark Noonan points out, The plain fact of the matter is that it wasn’t but a few months after 9/11 before Democrats were seeking ways and means of defeating President Bush and the GOP over the war.
Greasey Joe is angling for the VP slot on Hussein’s ticket. Yep, a barking moonbat would round out Hussein since he has experience at nothing, that is nothing not involving association with criminals and terrorist.
NO G.I. Joe Biden is from the socialist blue state of Duhawhere, where their governor is an obese democrat feminazi in Ruth Ann Minner (The RAM)… Scrapple sucks and roadkill tastes better!!! They do have NASCAR at the MONSTER MILE at Dover Downs twice a year…Bozo Biden is a joke and a meglomaniac.
