The dhimmification of Britian continues (via Stop The ACLU)
A police community support officer ordered two Christian preachers to stop handing out gospel leaflets in a predominantly Muslim area of Birmingham.
The evangelists say they were threatened with arrest for committing a “hate crime†and were told they risked being beaten up if they returned. The incident will fuel fears that “no-go areas†for Christians are emerging in British towns and cities, as the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, claimed in The Sunday Telegraph this year.
Arthur Cunningham, 48, and Joseph Abraham, 65, both full-time evangelical ministers, have launched legal action against West Midlands Police, claiming the officer infringed their right to profess their religion.
Mr Abraham said: “I couldn’t believe this was happening in Britain. The Bishop of Rochester was criticised by the Church of England recently when he said there were no-go areas in Britain but he was right; there are certainly no-go areas for Christians who want to share the gospel.†(snip)
“[The police officer]Â said we were in a Muslim area and were not allowed to spread our Christian message. He said we were committing a hate crime by telling the youths to leave Islam and said that he was going to take us to the police station.”
Well, isn’t that special? Nothing is going to happen to the officer involved, except that he has to go to special sensitivity type classes. Nothing about telling the cop to do his job, nothing about making sure West Midlands PD did their job in protecting people lawfully engaged in freedom of expression. Instead, they will protect the Islamists from the hate of the Bible. Eurabia is almost here.
It’s interesting that your source for this was Stop the ACLU since this is exactly something the ACLU would protest if it happened in this country. This same situation happened in Las Vegas a few years ago and the ACLU defended the street preachers.

[…] saw this story from Stop the ACLU originally at The Pirate’s Cove. This is an example of where the politically correct, socialist left will take America if we let […]
No one said the ACLU was completely bad. Every once in a while they do what you would expect a group that is there to protect civil rights to do.
Most of the time, though, they have a political agenda.
So it’s only when the ACLU defends things that you agree with that they don’t have a political agenda? I don’t necessarily agree with everything the ACLU does all the time either. I just thought it was funny that a blog dedicated to “stopping†the ACLU could post this story. I hope you don’t mind, Teach, but I posted about this at Hooah Wife.
I don’t agree with the UN most of the time, but, they do good work now and then. I do not agree with Democrats most of the time, but do every now and then (see the post before this one.) Every once in a while, the ACLU and I will see eye to eye.
I don’t mind, I’ll try and check it a bit later. About to head to work, wanted to reply before going.
