Yes, it certainly is good to be Mike Easley, with his term winding down. News 14 – First lady’s raise may break UNC rules
The UNC System Board of Governors wants to know if N.C. State broke the rules when it gave first lady Mary Easley an $80,000 pay raise.
The News & Observer reported last week that the university raised the first lady’s salary to $170,000. Mary Easley serves as an executive-in-residence and a senior lecturer at the university.
UNC Board of Governors Chair Hannah Gage said the raise may violate a policy requiring the governing board to approve pay increases of more than 15 percent, or $10,000.
Pretty good raise! Wait for the shake!
The average salary for a full professor at NCSU is $110,000.
Mary Easley started at $80,000 in 2005, and is now at $170k. Don’t get saucy with me, Bernaise.
In 2005 Easley, a lawyer, was hired to teach three courses and direct a speakers program. Now she will teach two classes, coordinate law education initiatives and create and direct a public safety leadership center.
Is that worth $170K a year? What happens to be tax payer money? Aaawwww, now there’s a naughty bit ah’ crumpet.
Let’s not forget that there was a big kerfuffle over Mary Easley and her tax payer funded trip to Europe.
