Global Warming Could End White Christmas’

Um, OK, sure, whatever you say

global coolingThe odds of a “white Christmas” in temperate parts of the northern hemisphere have diminished in the last century due to climate change and will likely decline further by 2100, climate and meteorology experts said.

Did you ever notice (I’m typing in Jerry Seinfeld) that Climahysterics love to throw out “2100?” Why is that? Could it be because most people reading it will not be around in 2100, so there is no way for anyone to disprove it at this time? And by Climate Change, they mean Man made, not natural, which is primarily what has occured since around 1850, when the Little Ice Age ended.

They want us to believe this tripe, yet, they can’t even get a 7 day forecast correct. Now I am waiting for the “but, that’s weather. Climate is totally different!” Suckers.

Even though heavy snow this year will guarantee a white Christmas in many parts of Asia, Europe and North America, an 0.7-degree Celsius (1.3 Fahrenheit) rise in world temperatures since 1900 and projected bigger rises by 2100 suggest an inexorable trend.

In other words, don’t pay attention to the man behind the screen, means nada. But, 1.3 F in almost 110 years?

Evidence continues to mount that mankind is to blame for climate change, according to the U.N. Climate Panel. Drawing on the work of 2,500 experts, it says greenhouse gases, mainly from burning fossil fuels, are blanketing the planet.

Must have been quite a few invisible SUVs back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, eh?

Emissions of the gases, led by carbon dioxide, have surged by about 70 percent since 1970 and could in the worst case more than double again by 2050, it says. Rising temperatures will bring more floods, heatwaves, stronger storms and rising seas.

So what caused the temp rise in the early 1900’s? Reuters? Hello? Around 40% of the CO2 rise in the 20th Century occured by 1940. Strange, eh? It’s a good thing we do not have a nationwide chill going on with below average temps. Oops, sorry, I forgot, that’s weather. It’s only climate when it gets warm.

An Australian researcher has linked the sun’s magnetic activity to rainfall patterns in his country over the past century. The connection is solid enough that meteorologists might be able to use it to make better long-term weather predictions. But experts remain cautious about the wider implications of the findings.

Scientists have long known that the sun plays a key role in Earth’s weather patterns. For example, the number of sunspots on its surface–dark zones of intense magnetic activity–peaks about every 11 years, followed by a period of dormancy. The cycle causes swings in sea-surface temperatures–more sunspots mean warmer oceans, and fewer mean chillier waters–but the effect is small. There’s also a 22-year cycle, in which the sun changes the polarity of its magnetic field, but it’s unclear how that phenomenon affects Earth.

Funny how a. the experts remain cautious (as they should be) about the wider implications, while Climahysteric scientists immediately blame Mankind, and b. how the climahysterics always ignore the evidence of what the Sun does to weather, which is what creates climate.

It’s painful outside today … wind chill was -5 when I got up.

I forgot how cold COLD really is.

  2. Not that bad here in Raleigh, but, cold enough that the water in the ashtray outside the back door of the office never melted, and there is a pot out on my deck that was full of rain water (I use it for fish tank stuff, never got around to putting it away) stayed frozen all day, and the deck faces almost due east, so, sunlight all morning.

You stay safe in that cold, Maggie!

gee a cold day in December who could have known something like that was gonna happen?
