British Nanny State Could Implement Website Ratings

Surely soon to be proposed by Queen Nancy

Websites could be given cinema-style age-ratings under plans by the Government to limit access to “unacceptable” material, Culture Secretary Andy Burnham warned.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Mr Burnham said “clearer standards” were needed as to what could be displayed online.

He said it was his “absolutely categorical” view that there was material on the web – including beheadings – which should not be available to anyone.

So, ratings and censorship. Beheadings should be seen by everyone, so that they can understand the types of animals we are up against. They’ll probably want to censor 9/11 video, as well.

Oh, and the funniest part is that because it is a UK website, there are all types of racy ads and story links with accompanying pictures on the right side! :)

It gets better:

Describing the Internet as a ‘quite a dangerous place,’ Burnham told the Daily Telegraph he is planning to negotiate with President-elect Obama’s incoming administration to draw up new international rules for English language Web sites.

Wonderful. If they go by cursing, like with movies, the Left-o-sphere is in deep poo doo. The are 12 times more likely to use curse words then conservative sites.

What is your blogsite rating? See if Barry will censor you. Well, if you are a conservative, probably so regardless.
