AGW Today: Save The Manatees!!!!!!

Poor things. Someone should tell the Florida Manatees about global warming

OK, that’s not fair, but it got your attention.  This winter has been cold all the way down to Florida.  Yesterday morning, 90% of the nation had temperatures dropping below freezing. However, this latest arctic air mass has made it all the way down to Florida.  It’s just the latest round of very cold pattern in Florida this winter.

The video at the bottom of this posdt shows the affect of the chill on the manatees and the orange crop.  The routine chill has finally dropped the water temperatures to dangerous levels.  Water is slower to change temperature than the air.

These manatees gathered along with human onlookers at Blue Spring State Park in Florida yesterday.  One park ranger counted 231 of these gentle giants, which average 10 feet long and 1,000 pounds.  When the water drops below 60F, these manatees, otherwise known as sea cows, flock to a spot where the water is a constant 72F.

Oops, sorry, I forgot. When it gets cold, it’s weather. Or global warming causes cold temps. Something like that. The Believers excuses get confusing. Then they jump in the SUV and leave the car idling for a long time while picking he kiddies up.

The only one confused about weather and climate is you, Teach. Typical AGW post – it has nothing to do with global warming and you leave out the most relevant information…

Most noticeable is the behavior in the winter. A huge debate has been going on for decades about the Indian River in Florida. A nuclear power plant pumps out warm water in the winter that is attractive for the manatees, but also prevents them from traveling farther south to warmer waters.

    Love the manatees, thanks! :)

Teach the manatees do this EVERY year in the winter. Teach here is a link to a story about how the US Coast Guard is dealing with the arctic ocean becoming ice free. Are you now going to accuse the US military of drinking the Kool Aid ? Teach why do you hate the US Coast Guard ? http://www.fortmilltimes.com/124/story/450058.html

84 people dead in Australia from the worst ever wildfires and Teach still makes fun of the situation
