Bad news, Climahypocrites
Although a majority of Americans believe the seriousness of global warming is either correctly portrayed in the news or underestimated, a record-high 41% now say it is exaggerated. This represents the highest level of public skepticism about mainstream reporting on global warming seen in more than a decade of Gallup polling on the subject.
The number who believe global warming, and, of course, what they mean is AGW, is down to 57% for those who believe it is correctly portrayed or underestimated. I would have liked to see a question
Â
As recently as 2006, significantly more Americans thought the news underestimated the seriousness of global warming than said it exaggerated it, 38% vs. 30%. Now, according to Gallup’s 2009 Environment survey, more Americans say the problem is exaggerated rather than underestimated, 41% vs. 28%.
The big problem with all the polls is that it does not separate anthropogenic global warming from natural global warming. I believe in natural. I believe Man probably has a small part in the warming trend. But, I do not drink the kool aid that it is mostly or all Mankind’s fault. Interestingly, those who do believe in it being Man’s fault rarely change their behavior to match their rhetoric.
Â
Looks like it is primarily Democrats who are drinking the kool aid. Also, people under 30, who have been indoctrinated with scary movies and rhetoric, are the main group that believe that the news has not been exaggerated.
Concern for 7 other environmental issues beats out AGW, as well. That pleases me, and, I would like to see true environmental concerns divorced from the AGW issue, which, again, is mostly about control, rather then science. Global warming happened. It is in decline at the moment, but, I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes back in the near future, then, hundreds of years from now, the world-wide climate will switch, much as it did when the Earth went from the Global Climate Optimum to the Little Ice Age.

And you present the opinions of random laypersons as proof? What kind of backwords world do you live in, Teach? This poll is EXACTLY why activists are focusing on PR campaigns, to help spread knowledge on the subject and simultaneously counter the MISinformation that is spread by people like you.
OK, so, I shouldn’t listen to anything you or Silke write, is that correct, Reasic?
Have you ever considered that it is YOUR side that is wrong?
No.
Yes. When I started learning about climate science, I didn’t have a side, so I considered the possibility that either side was wrong. I have since become convinced by the AGW arguments and the nonsense that flows from deniers like you. How about you? Have you considered that you could be wrong?
