Gordon Brown and his wife, along with the British press. Hamid Karzai. The nation of India. Human rights groups. Poland. The Special Olympics and the folks who participate in them. These are just some of the groups and people that the Barack H. Obama administration has offended, annoyed, and ticked off. Now, how about another? (via Gateway Pundit from Monsters and Critics)
US President Barack Obama has indirectly praised former French president Jacques Chirac’s fierce opposition to the US-led invasion of Iraq, the online edition of the daily Le Figaro reported on Thursday.
In a letter described by Chirac as ‘very nice,’ Obama wrote, ‘I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world.’
The use of the word ‘peace’ was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac’s stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed as senator.
This should make the up coming G20 meeting go well.
The amazing thing is that Obama actually received a B.A. in political science with a focus on international affairs. Heck, I have the same degree, and, even just being a peon, I know better then to do something so idiotic. Doesn’t Obama have anyone working around him that can advise him on how not to annoy allies? I hate to agree with Hugo Chavez, but Obama really is an ignoramus.
Actually, I guess the amazing thing is that someone so unqualified was elected President.
A quick PS: The Guardian is reporting that the US, meaning the Obamateur admin, of course, “will appoint Afghan ‘prime minister’ to bypass Hamid Karzai.” Place your bets for the next person or group that will be insulted.
