It seems that there isn’t a segment of people who oppose Obama’s agenda, or just happen to be a talking point, that he won’t insult. He went after Rush. He went after Joe the Plumber. He insulted Nancy Reagan. He insulted Special Olympians. He had his little DHS report, which some on the Left still do not get, that basically put religious folks, veterans, and Conservatives in a box that said “right wing extremist.” And let’s not forget his little wonkiness when he called America “arrogant.” Now, he goes after Fox News and TEA Party protesters.
During his little 100 day photo-op in Arnold, MO, he had this to say (hat tip Nice Deb)
“Those of you who are watching certain news channels on which I’m not very popular, and you see folks waving tea bags around, Obama said, “let me just remind them that I am happy to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.â€
“But,†Obama continued, “let’s not play games and pretend that the reason [for the deficit] is because of the Recovery Act.â€
I’m not quite sure what reality he lives in, thinking it is about health care or something (which the TEA Parties were most assuredly were not about), and not about the massive generational theft act, massive Omnibus bill, massive 2010 budget, which followed TARP and all the massive spending during Bush’s 8 years (which Conservatives gave Bush and elected Republicans a low mark for.)
Is this what Obama meant by “post-partisan,” that he would attack and insult fellow Americans? Private citizens engaged in Constitutionally protected Free Speech, in exactly the manner that the Framers intended? Imagine if this was Bush going after private citizens. Imagine the uproar. So far, my opposition to Obama has strictly been on policy. Lot’s of other people feel the same way. Politics isn’t personal for most on the Right like it is for those on the Left. But, Obama is pushing hard for folks on the Right to start personally disliking him with his constant personal attacks on private citizens. I’m going to stop there before I write something nasty.
Meanwhile, the Commander In Deflector cannot even take ownership for the deficit he helped create, as the Associated Press points out. If only they had put as much work, and honesty, into their pre-election coverage of Obama.
PS: Via Michelle Malkin, Obama’s bluff has been called
The National Leadership Team of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition today accepted President Obama`s invitation “to have a serious conversation about how we are going to cut our health care costs down over the long term, how we are going to stabilize Social Security.â€
The invitation was extended by the President at a Town Hall Meeting held in Arnold, Missouri today. Michael Patrick Leahy, a member of the National Leadership Team of the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, said “We want to broaden the scope to address the President`s runaway march to socialist-statism, and the rampant across the board irresponsible spending he is promoting with his $787 Billion Stimulus Plan and his $1 Trillion Annual Deficit, his takeover of General Motors, Chrysler and the Banks.â€
Think he’ll have the cajones to walk the talk?
My guess is that he “won’t be able to fit it into his busy schedule” and will continue to pooh-pooh the Americans who are concerned about the explosion of the national debt and his reluctance to address what is going to be the Social Security Crisis. If you thought the collapse of the banking system was ugly, it will be 10 times worse when the US feels the social security crunch and retirees start expecting to get money that isn’t there.
most Americans thought the teabaggers were wack
You are probably correct, MBP. Obama doesn’t have the cajones to debate it.
Any comment on POTUS slurring fellow Americans, John?
