I guess the science isn’t settled
The nation’s largest business lobby wants to put the science of global warming on trial.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, trying to ward off potentially sweeping federal emissions regulations, is pushing the Environmental Protection Agency to hold a rare public hearing on the scientific evidence for man-made climate change.
Chamber officials say it would be “the Scopes monkey trial of the 21st century” — complete with witnesses, cross-examinations and a judge who would rule, essentially, on whether humans are warming the planet to dangerous effect.
Just a guess, but, I really doubt the EPA will actually do this, as, most of the Climahysterics do not actually want a public debate. Al Gore sure won’t debate anyone. Hansen doesn’t. Nor do the rest.
The EPA is having none of it, calling a hearing a “waste of time” and saying that a threatened lawsuit by the chamber would be “frivolous.”
Guess they won’t. Shocker. EPA spokeshysteric Brendan Gilfillan says the science is settled, damnitall, so, stop mucking around and ginning up opposition to AGW legislation with that damned science.

Teach why is it that you never seem to want to include our military into that group of “climahysterics” They are budgeting hundreds of millions studying global climate change much of it because of parts of the arctic are becoming ice free for longer periods of time. If you believe they are all fools step up and say so
My goodness John, just because they’ve been forced into accepting or complying with the hsyteria, does not by any stretch mean they wouldn’t love to hear different news about AGW, and how they manage their systems without the costly and crippling of the defense of our country.
I say, bring it on. And if those hysteria mongers have any guts, they will accept.
Trish you mean that Al Gore and the hippies have cowed our military ? I hardly think so And Russian military also ? Trish the world is getting warmer, and the sun is and has been in a cooling phase for over 10 years. I grew up skating on natural ice outside of Boston, my school had hockey practice on a pond. ALL of that is now in the past history.
I didn’t say Al himself, but organizations who threaten and cajole, petition and bully are in force, and they most surely have gotten to military officials.
Since the 70’s environmentalists have built up a huge powerful presence, and large corporations and yes, militaries, are being coerced all of the time for fear of looking bad. The power and politics behind global warming and environmentalism is vast, whether you believe in it or not. I am certain that there are some fair minded concerned people out there who truly only wish to protect nature, but be assured, this IS about power and politics, not about saving the planet.
When I grew up we had snow drifts of five feet and better, that lasted all winter long. And I also skated out of doors in the western burbs of Phila. I really miss those days.
But my parents told me that in their youth, the 1920’s-30’s lots of snow was not typically the case.
Weather changes.
