AGW Causes Mental Illness, Or Something

The latest OMG WE’RE ALL IN DEEP DOO DOO BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING! EVERYBODY PANIC! story

The negative impact on mental health worldwide may be one of the most severe effects of climate change, with children at greatest risk, according to experts.

Of course. Think of the children.

As climate change causes extreme weather events, drought, financial strain and changes in work and migration patterns, people will be at increasing risk from mental health issues such as post traumatic stress disorder and depression, said Dr Helen Berry from the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian National University (ANU).

Riiiiiiight. Because those things have never happened before.

Despite the risk, this is an area that has received little attention, she added.

You know, on second thought, I think this area should be explored and studied tremendously. Perhaps it might explain the insanity that pervaded so many folks on the Left (and some on the right,) when it came to George Bush and Sarah Palin. Maybe it could explain the moonbattery practiced on the Left. And, maybe, just maybe, we could get an answer to why so many supposed scientists and citizens have lost their ever-lovin’ minds when it comes to anthropogenic global warming.

That really would be a good stopping point, but, I made the mistake of reading the whole story, darnitall!

“It’s becoming apparent that we’re experience the IPCC’s worst case scenario of climate change – or even worse,” said Berry. “We need to address the impact that this will have on mental health, now.”

Give us money to study this.

“All of these factors interact and could result in a great increase in severe mental health problems,” she added.

Money.

“The aim is to try to see mental health as part of an overall strategy that deals with climate change impact,” he said.

Money.

Despite their warnings, it’s not all bad news – Dr Berry added that there could be a positive side effect to communities facing the risks of climate change.

“Climate change could motivate collective action, which is the number one thing to protect mental health,” she said.

Socialism.

  2. Nice Deb says:

I think they’ve got it sort of backwards. The mentally ill invented AGW.

  3. Trish says:

All I need to help me out of depression, is to read your posts and some of your commenters and a big warm (not overly so) smile spreads across my face, thereby raising me from the depths of despair.
Nice Deb is right by the way.
And as for AGW and its relationship to our government; It Is All About Money & Power.

  4. LeDoSholas says:

It’s funny how simple it is to break down the main motive behind liberal propaganda. I enjoyed reading your comments on the article, thanks!

  5. Good one, Bob!

Now, now, Deb, that is “mentally challenged” :)

    Thank you, Trish and LedoSholas!

  6. Trish says:

Have you seen the Lord Monckton you tube from Minnesota? It’s a doozy! John Ryan probably won’t like it though!

  7. GM Roper says:

Wow, I had no idea that the “children” were so damageable.

Crap!!! As a licensed mental health professional with some 40 years experience, I categorically call this a BS tale from the apologists for the left. If one tall tale won’t convince you, they’ll add BS to it by the shovel full until you are a believer.

If “growing warmer” via “climate change” damaged children’s mental health, then we would have seen consistently more serious mental illness around the equator and far less in the northern latitudes. That is simple logic and for the life of me, I can’t believe that any “thinking” individual would buy the leftist crap.

Thanks for pointing this out my friend. Good job!

  8. I’ve seen that one, Trish. I’m hoping Monckton is a bit overboard on it.

Welcome, GM. I wonder what the mental makeup of people would be if we were to go back into a cool period like the Little Ice Age. Would they be anxious about it being cold all the time? I wonder how they would feel about a new Black Plague possibility, as happened at the beginning of the LIA?
