Denver Public School officials are apologizing after a parent complained that a school lunch meant to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was stereotypical and offensive, reported KMGH-TV.
The lunch, planned for Friday, was to include southern-style chicken, collard greens and a biscuit in honor of King.
Look, I’m not a big person for PC, and, I am sure they had good intentions, and I do not think it was racist, but, damn, utterly stupid and insensitive beyond belief. Some things you just don’t do. You might as well serve pork at a Muslim or Jewish function.

Terry said his office responded to a call about 7:30 this morning of armed gunmen in the vicinity of the Pantex Plant and located two men who were hunting geese on Farm-to-Market Road 2373.
Terry said deputies located the men, who he said were off-duty plant employees who had pulled off the road about two miles south of Pantex on FM 2373. The men were questioned and officers determined they were not doing anything illegal.
Did I mention that Pantex is a nuclear weapons plant? Good move, slicks, hunting near the weapons plant you work at.

WINNIPEG – Jurors were sent home early yesterday after the star witness in the murder trial of three Winnipeg men couldn’t stop vomiting while under cross-examination.
“I think the record should reflect that the witness is vomiting,†said defence lawyer Jeff Nichols as Danny Simao, sitting in the witness box, threw up into a garbage can perched between his legs.
I wonder if the jury still gets paid for the day and their parking validated?
