Oshkosh bygosh! (How often does one get to write that!) It appears there is a bit of a kerfuffle up in Oshkosh over a billboard
A company represented by a Menasha lawyer has rented a billboard calling for President Barack Obama’s impeachment.
It was paid for by an unnamed company represented by Tom Wroblewski. He said the sentiment is that Washington politics are bad for small businesses.
The sign went up Thursday and will remain up for at least six months, at a cost of $1,000 a month.
Jef Hall, chairman of the Winnebago County Democratic Party, said having a bad opinion of the president doesn’t mean there’s been an impeachable offense. Wroblewski said that, despite the billboard’s language, he was not suggesting that Obama committed an impeachable offense.
Hall has a point. Of course, it is one that the left typically failed to adhere to during the George W. Bush years. So, the question of the day is, should Obama be impeached? Has he actually done anything to warrant, by terms of the Constitution, being impeached? I’ll say no, since, to paraphrase Hall, understanding that Obama is a complete boob, a massive partisan hack, and completely unqualified (and he is still at the 1st grade level of Biden’s “on the job training” remark) doesn’t meet the reasoning for the Constitutional requirement for impeachment.

WOW! I know right where that is. Those are my old stomping grounds, and very funny to see Menasha make it into a national political story (my hometown – Shout out for the SMC Zephyrs). The tower in the background is the Winnebago County Correctional Facility, strangely appropriate for a political story, haha.
Anyway, to answer the question, It is a pretty stupid sign. Last time I checked, being incompetent isn’t an impeachable offense. Now had the sign said “Recall Obama”, or something along those lines, I would have said yeah, OK. Even if it is unreasonable to recall the President, at least it expresses your frustration at him and the administration’s policies. But to use “Impeach” as a catch all is just stupid.
Might as well say “Biden for President”, and that’s a damn scary thought.
If you received Federal funds and did half the stupid things that Obama has, you would be arrested for fraud. The fact that he has taken over private industry has to be a crime.
If I recall correctly (and fully accepting that I might not), you don’t have to actually break the law to fall under High Crimes and Misdemeanors. The phrase itself, as it was understood by the good folks who put that clause into our laws, meant behavior that could be considered wholly improper, while not necessarily criminal.
Clinton getting “serviced” in the Oral Office is not illegal, but most certainly is improper. And since there was clear evidence of this, re the stained blue dress, he could have been impeached just for that, not even including repeatedly committing felony perjury for lying to Congress, witness tampering, bribery, obstruction, and intimidation of the prosecution (also proven by the evidence.)
The Founders expected the man elected to our highest office to be of the highest character, to set an example to all the world and to be an exemplary representative of our nation.
Appalling to see how far we’ve fallen below that mark.
Obama has certainly engaged in some questionable behavior, before and during his campaign, and after his election. As to whether or not it is impeachable, maybe not; but I think it warrants investigation.
Unfortunately, the very people who would call for this and the people who would judge it are firmly nestled betwixt Obama’s butt cheeks; short of a Republican supermajority, non-RINO, it won’t happen. Even WITH all that, it probably won’t happen. And even if it did, chances are nothing would come of it. Again, look at Clinton. They had him dead to rights, and he still skated with barely a slap on the wrist.
[…] … you get the point. One guy even equates ‘Support the Troops’ with ‘Impeach Obama‘. That’s a real stretch. What kind of mind comes up with that twisted […]
